Hello Everyone this is a timeline of the Roman Empire if Britannicus if he had succeeded his father Claudius and not Nero.

Chapter 1

October 14th, 54AD
CURIA JULIA, ROME

The Senators that were available all sat in the Curia Julia, in the room with the Senate were a century of Praetorian Guard with the Prefect of the guard Sextus Afranius Burrus commanding them. The Praetorians were their for one reason, that reason were the 3 people that were seperated by two groups of the guards. They were the natural son of deceased Emperor Claudius, Tiberius Claudius Britannicus Caesar, the adopted son of Claudius, Nero Claudius Germanicus, and his mother daughter of General Germanicus and empress of Rome Agrippina.

The day before on October 13th, the Emperor had died. Narcissus had been caught trying to burn Claudius's will, he now was crucified in front of the palace of the Emperor.

The Consul Marcus Asinius Marcellus stood from the Curule Chair the seat of the consuls. "Senators of Rome!" He began. As he spoke his words were spoken outside of the Curia Julia to the people of Rome who awaited news of the Emperors will.

"In the words of the Desceased Emperor Claudius, to the Citizens of Rome shall recieve a payment of 50 Denari. And to my loyal Praetorians a stipend of 1000 Denari to every soldier for their loyalty and service and to the legionaries of Rome a payment of 1 years wages to every man. This shall be doiled out in the name of my son Tiberius Claudius Britannicus. The Praetorians are to transfer their loyalty to my son and Hier Britannicus who is to take my place as Emperor"

Britannicus was only 13 and was startled by the screach of rage that came from his right, from Agrippina as all her hard work to make her son Emperor to include murdering Claudius came undone. Nero managed to break through the unsuspecting Praetorians who were listening to the Consul and charged Britannicus. His hands grasped Britannicus's throat and the 16 year old Nero overpowered Britannicus. As he choked Britannicus a knee slammed into his groin and Nero fell away from Britannicus holding his groin Britannicus who was laying on the ground regaining his breath watched as both Agrippina and Nero were held by the Praetorians. The Senators all smiled as they watched the boy who was now Emperor hit his adopted brother in the groin ending the struggle. Many of them were threatened by Nero and Agrippina and would support the young boy.

The Consul Marcellus continued. "Once again, as Claudius states in his will. Agrippina is no longer his wife, and Nero is disowned and no longer his son! Senate of Rome honor my will and guide my son Britannicus through his reign as u have me!" Marcellus looked upon the boy who was now their focus. " Senate of Rome what do u say to the will of Augustus Claudius?"

Their was Silence suddenly two men spoke. Both were men that Agrippina had threatened. Gnaeus Domitius Corbulo, and Titus Flavius Vespasian. "Claudius has given his will and let us follow it!" Vespasian spoke simply, Claudius was the reason he was a famous commander. Corbulo nodded his accent. Another one stood it was Senator Lucius Annaeus Seneca tutor of both Britannicus and Nero.

"I have personally taught the young Caesar, and i will say he is a brilliant young man, he has learned he lessons well and is showing vast promise in everything needed to lead an Empire. Be it Military or Administrative i also say let him become our Augustus. With a group of advisors the Empire will prosper and so will the Senate and People of Rome!"

Only moments after this the entire senate rose to their feet and together shouted with enthusiasm. "Ave Imperator Tiberius Claudius Britannicus Emperor of Rome!"

Chapter 1

The new Emperor of Rome was only 13, he would recieve his Toga Virtiralis or toga of manhood in Feburary. To balance the age of the young emperor a group of advisors were set up in almost a semblance of a regency. These permanent advisors include Praetorian Prefect Sextus Afranius Burrus, and Lucius Annaeus Seneca. The father of Britannicus's best friend Titus, Vespasian was also brought in as one of his advisors, as were Gnaeus Domitius Corbulo and the current Consul Marcus Asinius Marcellus. These men gathered with Britannicus a week after the 14th the day of Britannicus's ascension, October 21st of 54AD.

Over the last week each of his advisors had filled him in on the empire and any of its problems and had helped him come up with solutions now he had gathered them all to declare his intentions for the beginning of his reign.

"Over the last week we have induvidually discussed the empire, its problems, solutions to those problems, and how se are to govern until I am of age. I have decided. Gnaeus Domitius Corbulo, i have decided that you are to go east. Your mission is to prepare war against Parthia like we discussed earlier. Even though war is not close it is better to be prepared and tensions have been rising slowly in the east." Everyone nodded at this descision.

"Vespasian you will stay here in Rome were you will help me with governing Italia. Seneca is to continue being my teacher and with Afranius will advise me on empire wide issues. We will not do anything major that could cause issues until i am older." There was one thing left on the agenda.

"As for Agrippina and Nero i have decided what i want to do if you all agree with me. They killer my father, and tried to kill me during the will reading. Even though we could use them to create more members of the dynasty. The threat of them trying to usurp is to great. Therefore they will be executed. The brothers of Lucius Junius Silanus, descendant of Augustus will avenge thier brothers death by Agrippina by being the executioners."

The room was silent as everyone thought about the implications of this. Finally Vespasian spoke. "I agree. The Silanii brothers should be allowed to be the executioner's. By avenging their brother they have no need to try and take vengence on you."

Seneca nodded. "To make their loyalty even greater to you. You should bring thier 2 sisters out of exile. They are all descendants of Augustus so by making their loyalty unquestionable you are more secure."

Britannicus agreed to this before convening the meeting.

Only a day later the Senate gathered atop the Tarpeien Rock. The mob of rome was gather atop it and bellow it as well. The brothers of Lucius Junius Silanus, Marcus and Decimus stood behind the prisoners, the ex empress of the empire Agrippina and Nero. The two were beaten and battered, Agrippina looked worse than Nero as her crimes were worse. Were Nero had been severely beaten by the Silani brothers, Agrippina had been raper by many members of the Praetorian guard, by the Silani brothers and members of the mob, the battered woman had then been beaten nearly to death by the Silani brothers and now came the official execution. The Consul Marcellus spoke loudly for everyone to hear.

"The woman Agrippina and her son Nero have been sentenced for serious crimes! These include the murder of several senators to include Lucius Junius Silanus, the murder of Emperor Claudius, treason, and the attempted murder of our new Emperor Britannicus, and for incest between mother and son. This last charge was not fully true but their were suspicions and it only added to the shame of the two. For these crimes they have been sentenced to death by the Tarpeien rock." Marcellus looked to the Silani and nodded.

Britannicus watched without remorse as the two brothers grabbed the two prisoners and with all their strength and anger, threw them from the cliff and down onto the ground below were they landed with a wet thud. Britannicus then watched as the Silani came up to him and saluted. " we thank you Emperor for allowing us to personally avenge our brother." The elder brother Marcus then said so that only Britannicus could here. "Emperor you have my full loyalty and support."

Britannicus nodded. He appreciated Marcus's words. Now that the current threats to his life and reign were dealt with he could focus on what mattered. The Empire.

Chapter 3

57AD
The year 57AD was a year that in many minds made the young Emperor who was now 16. With the increasing tension in Parthia the Emperor who had ruled well under his advisors of Vespasian, Afranius, and Seneca, recalled the General Titus Flavius Sabinus brother of Vespasian. Sabinus would become a key ally, his first task after his recall by Britannicus was to reform 2 legions, the XVII and XVIII, legions lost in the touterbourg ambush.

These legions would go east with Britannicus the next year to war with Parthia. As these legions were reformed a plot was discovered, Britannicus's cousin Faustus Cornelius Sulla Felix was the figurehead of the plot. The other figurehead was Quintus Haterius Antoninus who was involved to gain financial benefits. The others involved were several Praetorian Tribunes who could call upon half of the guard.

Upon discovering the plot Sextus Afranius Burrus had challenged the plotters who gathered their army of some 6000 Praetorians who were hungry for the promised donative of 4000 denarii each that had been promised by the plotters, and challenged the emperor and his advisors on the plains outside the city.

The reamaining 4000 Praetorians were joined in support of Britannicus by the 2 new legions who fell under the command of the Flavian brothers Vespasian and Sabinus. The 2 legions amounted to around 3000 men each and were accompanied by 100 cavalry each.

The Praetorians seeing they were outnumbered tried surrendering but their pleas fell on deaf ears. The loyal army of Britannicus advanced. The two armies met in the middle under a hail of Pila, the roman javelin. The 2 legions which were on the flanks almost instantly wrapped around the Praetorian flanksand a bloody melee ensued. The entire rebel army was masscared, the ringleaders were caught and crucified while the cousins of Britannicus, Sulla and Antoninus were paraded around the city in a miniture triumph before being strangled for treason.

For their Loyalty Britannicus gave the 2 legions the title Fidelis Claudia or Loyal Claudian legion. In the aftermath of the battle Britannicus was betrothed to Vespasians daughter Domitilla who was 12, and Britannicus's sister Claudia Octavia was betrothed to Vespasians son Vespasian the younger. His older sister was then married to the eldest of the Silani brothers Marcus Junius Silanus whose wife had recently died.

Britannicus's popularity only grew more after the defeat of the rebel army. His new legions the XVII FIDELIS CLAUDIA and XVIII FIDELIS CLAUDIA quickly became full sized and began thier move to the east were a huge army was gathering under Corbulo. Sabinus and Vespasian were promised Governships after the war, Vespasian was to join Britannicus in the east while Sabinus and Seneca would hold down Rome with imperial authority.

At the beginning of 58AD at the age of 17 Britannicus travelled east to his future, to Romes future.

Q
Always wondered about this as a PoD, never seen it done.

Ive always been interested in this one. Britannicus and Majorian are my favorite what ifs. From what ive read Britannicus was seemingly a very intelligent boy who had the characteristics of a good emperor but was killer by Nero. As for this ive taken a few liberties as with Corbulo he was from what ive read sent to the east either at the end of Claudius's reign or the very beginning of Neros so i decided he was in rome durung this time. It is very well known that Titus and Britannicus were best freinds being taught together so Vespasian being an advisor came through that. The rebellion of Praetorians with Faustus as a figure head was a way on my part to have any praetorians who were disloyal killed away, Faustus auctually was in a plot in otl. The two biggest liberties i have taken were the creation of the XVII and XVIII legions and auctually Marcus Junius Silanus, who after i had already brought him i discovered died near the end of the reign of Claudius as well.

Just a note: Faustus Cornelius Sulla Felix is pretty unlikely to be involved in plots against Britannicus... The OTL accuses against him were false and being the half-brother of Empress Messalina he is, together with his wife Claudia Antonia (Britannicus’ half-sister) one of Britannicus’ closest relatives after his sister Claudia Octavia so are pretty unlikely to be involved in any plot here

Chapter 4

58AD
ARMENIA

The campaign had been a success for the Romans so far. Though it had started out inauspiciously when a former Primus Pilus and commander of the border forts Paccius Orfitus, lead a raid into Armenia against the orders of Corbulo who was the commander in chief for the current year of the war. Weeks into the campaign their spies brought news, the Parthian king Vologases abandoned his brother Tiridates to war with Rome. Vologases had left Armenia with his army to fight a rebellion to the southeast.

Corbulo and his army had then advanced into Armenia without any hinderances. Tiridates had tried to sue for peace but both sides distrusting, had brought thier armys to the negotiating table and the Armenian king had retreated. Leaving Corbulo to advance on his capital Artaxata.

The huge army of Corbulo consisted of the legions, III Gallica, VI Ferreta, X Fretensis, XII Fuliminata, and the XVII Fidelis Claudia the other legions the IV Sythica, and XVIII Fedelis Claudia were to stay in Syria soon to be reinforced by the V Macedonica where they would fortify agaisnt the Parthian client kingdom Edessa. Besides the original force of around 20,000 Auxiliaries Corbulo had another 20000 allied contigents with his army and another 20000 were in southern Armenia under their client kings, raiding Armenian territory.

September 15th, 58AD
Outside Artaxata, Armenia

After months of marching and Campaigning against the Armenians, the huge army of Corbulo and Britannicus totaling 5 legions 35,000 legionnaires, 10,000 Auxiliaries, and 20,000 allied soldiere were meeting the Armenians in battle. As they hsd marched they had left garrisons of Auxiliaries on their route to guard the supply line. Tirdates had tried to capture these forts but it proved costly. With 10,000 roman auxiliaries throughout his territory and the romans pushing to his northern capital of Artaxata his hand had been forced. With his 60,000 men he was forced to fight the romans to protect his capital.

Unfortunately for the Armenian king the romans reached the city first. Outnumbered as he was he hsd no intention of facing the romans and plannned on delaying the romans so his troops could get past thier line to reach the city.

The 2 forces were arrayed against eachother. Legions III Gallica, X Fretensis and XVII Fidelis Claudia were in 1 line, the VI Ferreta and XII Fulminata in a second line. Thier Auxiliary infantry were in their camp to the west of the city. The 35000 legionaries inbetween the roman camp and the Armenians while the allied contigent 20000 strong was half way up the hill to the city to prevent an attempt to reach the city. Each forces cavalry were on the city side of the battle. The roman cavalry 4000 strong was outnumbered by the 8000 strong Armenian cavalry.

Britannicus watched from beside Corbulo and Vespasian as the battle began. The vast majority of the Armenian infantry charged the romans who slowly advanced waiting. The two volleys of pila from the romans devastated the armenian lines nearly halting thier charge. At this point the romans charged crashing into the armenians with a ferocious crash. And around 3000 of the armenian cavalry charged the roman cavalry which suprised the 3 men. Their suprise quickly went to shock as the rest of the armenian army around 5000 cavalry including the deadly cataphracts, and 15000 heavy infantry turned and made their way to the city.

"Shit fuck!" Corbulo yelled. Corbulo turned to the legates of the VI and XII. "Turn you legions and charge the Armenians running for the city."

The legates ran to thier legions immediately horns sounded and the two legions turned and at a jog ran towards the battle between the armenians and the allied soldiers.

Tiridates laughed as he swept his sword into the mans neck nearly cleaving his head form his body. His cataphract charge had ruined the roman allied contigents formations and his men were now embroiled in a deadly fight that was in the armenians favour. As he stabbed another men through the neck he turned to see what the roman reaction had been.

His elation immediately fell through his throat. 2 entire legions were only 100 yards from the fight and closing fast. "To the city!" He screeched, immediately kicking his horse foward. Some of his men followed but it was to late. As he and anout 1000 of his cavalry and only 4000 infantry escaped the battle the romans threw their pila with devastating effects. Tiridates watched as hundreds of men collapsed stricken with death with each of the two pila volleys. Then the legions crashed into the fight masscaring the armenians.

Tiridates hung his head as he and his remaining 5000 men reached the city. He had failed.

Britannicus watched with Vespasian and Corbulo as the two legions abruptly ended the Armenian success on the hill. Only 5000 Armenians escaped to the city the rest held down in the fighting were killed to the man. While this critical action happened the Roman cavalry had pushed the Armenian cavalry arrayed against them from the field and turned back into the main armenian formation. Surrounded by legions and cavalry it was over for the rest of the Armenians who seeing their end tried to surrender. The killing continued for a few more minutes until all the armenians surrendered. These men would now be slaves sent to the arenas or the mines and fields. Out of 60000 armenians roughly 30000 were killed 5000 escaped and another 25000 surrendered. Britannicus only just noticed that the sun was going down.

Faustus is married to Britannicus's half sister, but is also a descendant of Augusts and through Domita lepida as well as Dictator Sulla. He was well known for not being the smartest easily lead. In our timeline from what i understood he was part of a plot against Nero though this was as a figurehead. Though ive also seen this as a fake plot. In this timeline ive made it were he is the figurehead of the plot not the auctual leader who are qiuntus haterius Antoninus who is a descendant of augustus and Antony. But the main leaders are the praetorian tribunes who bribed the praetorians. So the plot he is in basically takes him captive as the figure head.

Chapter 5
Chapter 5

After the battle of Artaxata and the loss of his vast army Tiridates and his men were held in a loss siege of the city. Because of the rough terrain the legions could only place a wall around 3/4 of the city. The rest of the area the dirt was not deep enough for a trench to make a rampart. To keep a guard in this area the Auxillia and 5 Cohorts of Legionaries were in several camps spread through the area which were surrounded by a wall of pikes.

Tiridates had held the walls 2 days after the siege began as the romans tried to assualt the city. Left with less than 2000 men and the citizens of the city becoming alarmed at what the end of the siege would bring them were becoming restless. Tiridates had a plan of action. His men would all mount horses leaving anything other than 7 days rations, shields armor and weapons and break out of the siege.

The night of the break out was fortunately cloudy for the Armenians. His men formed up in a column on the most eastern gate where the rough terrain prevented the romans wall. Tiridates at the nodded to the man at the gates. They waited for his wave, and slowly pulled the gate open. His men slowly moved out carefully, watching for any sign of being caught by the romans. As they crossee between two camps Tiridates sighed in relieve it seemed they were safe. Then the moon came out for only breife moments. But it was enough. Roman horns sounded, and several ballista shots arced into the column tearing through several men. It wouldnt be long before the roman cavalry arrived on scene.

"Ride men ride!" Instantly every man kicked thier horse into a gallop the column fleeing in the same direction. Those whose horses fell were trampled and those who fell behind were left to their own. Tiridates looked behind him and through the dust he could see the torches of the roman cavalry in the distance.

By the time sun was up. Every man was tired but new to survive they needed to continue. They had traveled roughly 25 miles. As they slowed their horses to a trot so the horses could take a break from the heavy run. Tiridates looked back and thankfully couldnt see a sign of the romans.

Vespasian arrived back at Artaxata at the same time. He had lead the cavalry in the chase but the distance had been to great to start of with and he didnt want to battle without no reinforcements and both sides exhausted it wouldve been mutual slaughter with no benifit.

Britannicus and Corbulo watched as Vespasian and his men arrived. With the lack of signs of battle Corbulo looked to Britannicus. "So what is your decision?"

Britannicus sighed. As soon as the Armenian king had left the city council had thrown open the gates and surrendered. A legion had secured the city without plundering it. Corbulo wanted to burn the city but Britannicus didnt think that the wisest decision.

"I think we should invest Tigranes with the throne here in Artaxata. It would provide a suitable throne for our client king, feom here he would rule northern Armenia without a problem."

Corbulo looked upon his one protege and Princeps of Rome. "His power would be based in the north, would it stay that way."

Britannicus smiled knowing that Corbulo had caught on with him. "I would think so yes. After all southern Armenia would provide us with a solid route to our new provinces once this war is over."

Corbulo laughed. Britannicus seemed to have a knack for war. "I see. Well then let Tigranes rule the north. Since its the end of campaign season i would say we should leave 3 legions here which can launch an attack from the north into southern Armenia next spring."

Britannicus nodded. "I agree. Since you have lead to this remarkable success i think you should stay in command of the Armenian front. Your loyal III VI and X legions should do the trick."

Corbulo was shocked at this. "I thought Vespasian could continue in Armenia while we attacked from the west into Parthias heartland."

Britannicus smiled at this. "Yes i thought about that at first. But the campaign through Armenia should not take long the only major city left is Tigranocerta. Just imagine the Armenian treasury which is hosted thier. Plus after the end of Armenia you would join us in Parthia." Corbulo's eyes were lit up with the thought of the Armenian treasury. He knew Britannicus was playing him. But by this point he didnt care.

"I am your loyal servant Princeps." Britannicus could only nod. For only being 17 he was sure bringing Rome much needed success.

Chapter 6
Chapter 6

The XII and XVII legions pulled back with Britannicus and Vespasian as the fall arrived, cooling temperatures. The surviving allied soldiers were sent home were they would rest for the winter. As the 2 legions marched back west they gave ordere to the Auxilia which held the supply line. Half of the cohorts would stay were they were and join Corbulo in the next years campaign while the rest would follow Britannicus and Vespasian were they would join their army the next year. In all the forces they arrived in Syria with amounted to 2 legions and 5,000 Auxiliaries which counted to 3,500 infantry, 500 skirmishere and archers and 1000 cavalry.

They wintered in Antioch. The legions were sent to the borders against the kingdom of Edessa, were they joined the XVIII, IV, and V legions. With 5 legions under their command the 2 men began the recruitment of Auxiliaries. Instead of allied units joining them next spring they wanted full Auxiliaries. They brought 10,000 Auxiliary infantry from Germania and the danube, and 4,000 cavalry were recrutied from the local client kingdoms and brought from across the empire. In total by the next spring they had a force of 25000 legionaries 13000 Auxiliary infantry around 1500 archers and 5000 cavalry.

During the time these forces were being recruited and shifted across the empire. Vespasian and Britannicus enjoyed everything the city had to offer. They held many parties for their men and for fellow senators who traveled to Antioch to visit the Princeps. While they enjoyed Antioch their fellow general Corbulo enjoyed his time in Armenia. Corbulo had around 14000 legionaries and had kept most of the Auxiliaries, which amounted to some 15000 men, and most of the cavalry which was 3500 strong. Besides this force he would be joined by the new client king Tigranes who would give him an additional 5,000 Infantry and 2500 cavalry. While they waited for winter to pass the two men made
sure their men were ready. Tigranes hosted parties and extravagant dinners for the men who woudl help govern his new kingdom, surprisingly the roman general hardly attended instead he seemed to be a hard man always with his men.

Then the spring of 59AD arriver and so did war. From Artaxata a roman army 40,000 strong burst forth and marched south. While the vast army from Syria nearly 45,000 strong swept into the kingdom of Edessa client to the Parthians. The first one to battle was the Army of Britannicus and Vespasian.

The two men were facing the cautious man who ruled Edessa, the man was supporteded by the king who had sent an army to the king to helo defend the area. They marched straight to the heart of the region and outiside the city of Edessa they fought the Edessan army.

Thier 45000 strong force faced an army of 60000. Of these about 40,000 were infantry while the other 20000 were cavalry. The romans anchored their army on a hill to their right. This was also were thier archers and suprisingly their artillery. These were guarded by 4 cohorts of legionaries totalling 2000 men. The legins then spread out to the left with only 1 in reserve this was the V Macedonica which stood behind the cavalry, which was next. After the cavalry was the Auxiliaries. This seemed a strange deployment but it was planned. The catapults and ballistae had full range over most of the field and began the battle.

The carved rocks thrown by the onagers smashed into the ranks of cavalry quickly followed by ballistae bolts. Screams of horses and men filled the air. This was followed by another volley and the enemy horse was forced forward. The entire time being shot at. Here around 2000 of the cavalry split of to charge the hill qere the hell was raining from. The infantry seeing their cavalry advance seemed unsure but were soon issued to advance. The Cavalry was way ahead by this time which was what the two men had hoped would happen. The cataphracts a force of nearly 5000 stronng charged the roman cavalry and as they closed they were elated to see the romans run. Then the V Macedonica appearee pila at the ready. The Parthian cavalry couldnt stop by this point the first volley hit thier ranks with devastating effects. Hundreds of horses and men fell and another volley followed after which the legion charged foward and buchered the mass of men and horse. The charge hadnt stopped upon the impact of the pila, which added to the carnage as the cavalry trampled their own thier own horses stumbling and falling.

As the cataphracts were slaughtered on the left the horse on the roman right reached the hill were they fired their arrows, but as their arrows arced up they were greeted by a hail of arrows and pila. Were as their were to devastating volleys of pila the arrows continued to fire, the force of 2000 cavalry routed with only a few hundred remaining.

On the roman left as the V legion slaughtered their enemies the cavalry and Auxiliaries faced the rest of the enemy. The Auxiliaries presented a wall of spears and shields the cataphracts who charged this broke through but were quickly assailed by furious men. The horse archers tried firing their arrows as they reached their range. But were assailed from the left from the Roman cavalry who had circled around. As the roman cavalry hit them from the left they also hit them from the back driving the parthians forward and the Auxiliaries charged. Britannicus and Vespasian watched the slaughter happily. Within about 10 minutes the enemy had lost easily 10000 cavalry. This was crazy but the amount of missiles had caused a devastating effect.

The legions reformed thier lines and advanced on the enemy infantry as the enemy cavalry ran from the field not even attempting to turn back half their number dead. Within a half hour the Edessan army ran from the field to their city many killed in the route.

Vespasian looked at the young 18 year old princeps. " A successful day!"

Britannicus nodded. They would now be forced to siege the city, but the battle was a rounding success, thier tactics had worked well trapping the effective parthian cavalry in a confined space were they were mercilessly killed.

To the north about a week later Corbulos army fought the armenian army about 15 miles from Tigoncerta. Corbulo fought a laat ditch Armenian defence and killed Tiridates. A day later the roman army arrived at rhe city of Tigoncerta and a tribune presented the head of thier king to the city. Which opened its gates quickly. The city was plundered by the romans and its wealth spread to Corbulo the men and to the empire. In total the two armies lost about 500 legionaries 1000 auxiliaries and 500 cavalry. The causalities were considerbaly less then their enemies. The campaign of 59AD was starting as a rounding success.

Is this war a conflict between Rome and Parthia over Armenia to be their client state? Hopefully Britannicus can annex Armenia to use it as a staging point to eventually conquer Mesopotamia. Maybe Britannicus could conquer all of Britannia like Agricola almost did. Will Britannicus continue the Julio-Claudians’ consolidation of power away from the Senate as the legitimate dynasty? If he pulls a Trajan eventually conquered Mesopotamia could he get away with having the Senste start referring to him as Dominus Noster (Roman equivalent of your majesty/ your highness) like Domitian and Diocletian did?

The conflict started out as a war between Roman and Parthis as a Client state. But the 59 AD invasian of the Kingdom of Edessa it became a war with parthia, Rome has amped up the war though not Parthia, rome brought around 90000 troops into the war amping it up to unprecedented levels. Also the Parthian king is also still finishing up a rebellion southeast of Armenia. So dont fully expect the war to continue so easily for the romans. As for Britannia it will continue much like it does in our timeline with some differences these will come up in some chapters very soon when the story pulls away from Parthia for a bit. Britannicus is only 18 at this time so he would gain vast prestige from Parthia so i dont think he will go that far yet, but it is a possibility in the future. What i do know for a fact, is the war in the east is not over for a bit yet, in otl the war went from 58AD to 63AD, and did continue much like it has here.
