Led Zeppelin in the 80s

I posted this before but didnt get much of a response. If John Bonham hadnt died, how different would 80s music be with Zeppelin still active? Also, which musical direction would they take? Would they dabble in new wave (there were some new wave-sounding songs on In through the out door), would they get caught up in the 80s hard rock sound (ie, ac/dc, van halen, motley crue, etc), or would they just do something completely different?

As long as they avoided the pop-electronica/MTV/drum machine trap that snared so many of the great 70's bands (I'm looking at you, Steve Miller..."Abracadabra?" WTF??) I'd be happy. My guess is either of the options you mentioned, or, alternately, jump on the Austin scene Rockin' Blues train (i.e. Fabulous Thunderbirds, George Thorogood, and of course Stevie Ray Vaughn).

Robert Plant

Robert Plant did have a song in 1988 called "Tall Cool one". Listen to that, and it may give you some idea of what could have been.
