Latin Monetary Union v Greater Germany?

Hey guys. I've been wondering about what would happen if the French Intervention in Mexico didn't fail, and gave Spain a French ally to work with to preserve its empire in the Spanish-American War. Along with this, Emperor Maximilian would maintain warm relations with the Habsburgs, and Bismarck would be adamant in dividing Austria from French allegiance. When the Franco-Prussian War happens, he demands unification of Austria with the rest of Germany. France becomes very concerned, and insists that now united Italy and stable Spain come together through the Latin Monetary Union. In the 1870s and 1880s, we now have two very distinct blocs forming to influence European diplomacy.

a) What happens to Russia? The Three Emperor's League obviously wouldn't follow the same path since there's no longer three monarchs to come together.

b) What happens in the Congress of Berlin? Without a distinct Austrian voice, there isn't much reason for Bismarck to counterbalance Russian demands.

c) Does Britain become swayed to ally with Germany before WW1? Germany made many efforts to court Britain, but they all failed. Would they succeed now that Austrophiles view Germany and Austria as one? Would they be concerned about French and Spanish rival colonies around the world?

d) What does the U.S. do? I say this especially in context of how Theodore Roosevelt would no longer be looked upon as a war hero, yet the fathers of scouting who proved themselves in the Boer Wars would still be around.

e) How do Asian affairs resolve? The Great Game, Meiji Restoration, Boxer Rebellion, and potential Russo-Japanese War have to still be dealt with.

f) Does Spain take a larger role in the South American naval race and Moroccan Crisis? Are these events used as models to settle naval rivalries between Britain and Germany?

Bonus: What happens to Siam now that it's under increased pressure between the French and Spanish Philippines to the east as well as the British to the west? If Germany takes a greater role in China and Japan, does Siam appeal to its neutrality between the British and French like Persia appealed to Germany before WW2 between the Soviets and Brits? Maybe Germany cooperates with the Dutch and uses the Dutch East Indies to project gunboat diplomacy as well?

I was thinking about the Hohenzollern candidacy for the Spanish throne now too.

Basically, France and Prussia could come to an agreement where instead of fighting, the Prussians would absorb Austria into Germany in exchange for giving up their claims to Spain.
