Latin American Union

is there any possible way for Latin America to be united as one nation? Or is there just to many differences for it to exist?

Their's not, no.

The closest you could get would be an earlier (IE 1960 onwards) Union of South American Nations.

The thing is, while their may be regional similarities between countries, Latin America as a whole did'nt really have much in common until the late 19th/early 20th century, other than the countries that speak Spanish, and even they only had that in common outside regional groups.

Edit: This marks my 9,000th (counted) post.

Yeah, have the Spanish-Portuguese union solidify into a single state such as with Aragon and Castille. The Spanish Empire remains at the top of the world and the population inside of the Latin American colonies develops a fully functioning middle class and an end to the caste system. A semi-federated series of republics and duchies are then released as Iberoamerica.

Horribly unlikely, but sure. Why not?

There's the United States (or Provinces) of Central America. It briefly existed, and there were a couple of attempts to revive it. I'd say that would be the most likely region to for a federation.
