Latin America without Monroe doctrine: European neoimperialism in a confederacy victory scenario?

Napoleon III attempt to install Maximilian as Emperor of Mexico is of course the most blatant example of the above.

However, I am more interested in later developments- assuming developments in Europe and the rest of the world take place largely as OTL until 1914, What form does greater European involvement in Latin American politics likely to take once the new imperialism takes off?

a. More muscular debt enforcement?
b. Supprting coups?
c. Taking sides in civil wars?
4. Supporting one side or another of Inter Latin American wars in return for concessions? (For example, the Pacific war between CHile to Boliva-Chile)
5. Outright annexation of reseource rich areas? (Atacama desert for example, or the gold bearing borderlands between British Guyana and Venezuela)
6. Establishment of protectorates? (Dominican Republic, Araucania)
7. Agreeing on "Spheres of Influence?"
8. Lease of islands and harbors to construct Naval bases? (I'm looking at you, Willie II)

The most likely answer is probably "all of the above, depending on circumstances/opportunity" (though I doubt anybody would outright annex Atacama).
