Late 1940 Peace Treaty

When the Germans came thru the Ardenenes , The French were Prepared and Waiting. With in weeks the Germans were pushed back to the West Wall.
By late Octobre the Allies were approaching the Beliguim and Holland - German Borders, from inside the two Countries.

Prime Minister Chamberlain and the French President receives a request for a Ceasefire, and Peace Negotiations.
The Request come from Reich Chancellor General XXX, and Reich President General YYY. Intelligence informs the Allies, that Hitler and Friends, encountered a severe case of Lead Poisoning.

Assuming that the Allies accept the Ceasefire, ??How goes the Negotiations??

Well... obviously a complete withdraw from Poland, Denmark, Norway, Belgium and Holland. For that matter Czechoslovakia is free and Mussolini will probably backpedal and start insisting on Austiran independence again.

A formal renouncing of all claims to these territories. Perhaps giving all Germans a grace period to move if they wish. Not sure you'll see war crimes Tribunials or anything since it really hadn't gotten that bad/public yet.

Germany would probably have to disarm again, though I suspect if Germany was willing to withdraw from all this territory, it probably wouldn't be as bad as Versallies. The same with any repirations(mainly to be paid to the invaded countries).

The real trick will be to get Stalin to give up eastern Poland, which he gained. Another reason the Allies might not insist upon this new Germany completely disarming as they're a viable buffer state at this point.

I was thinking of Germany with the 1914 Borders, establishing a Czech Republic.
With a Polish Republic in what is left , and saying that the rest of Poland has to be wrested from the Russians.

?Would the French and British Hold that heavy, to the 1939 Borders?

This is actually going to be very complicated.

Presumably all of pre-1938 Czechoslovakia is gone, Anchluss might be allowed to stand, I'm not too sure though since the Germans actually lost a war.

The Polish corridor/Danzig will go back to being Polish, that is the immediate cause of the war after all, but beyond that it's rather complicated considering what happens with the Soviet part of Poland now.

1914 Borders isn't going to happen, why the hell would France give Germany A/L?

I actually don't see the Germans giving in right after a failed battle of France at all actually, not after the victory in Poland.

What, reward Germany with Posen and Danzig?

Well Germany will be standing at the West Wall, which unlike 1945 has not been abandoned/neglected for 5 years, ending as a 1940 fortification fighting 1945 Weapons.
[AL is on the French Side]
This means that Germany has withdrawn from France, Belgium, Holland, Norway, With the Peace treaty being about what to do it the East.

France and Britain are looking at another WW1 Trench War, except Russia is associated with Germany, so no Hunger Blockade.
Italy and Spain are neutral in Germany's favor, as are Hungary and Romania.

Such success on Allied part is really unlikely. But not leaving Ardennes completely open would perhaps had given time for BEF to grow in strength and for France to get at least some grip and reform its leadership. If Allies can slow down German advance enough we could see 1914 redux, although with higher tech and faster attrition on both sides.

since the discussion is about eastern Europe ?What affect does throwing Russia into the negotiations cause?

Throwing Russia/the Soviet Union into the equation means mostly two things; 1) that the WWI tactic using the RN to starve Germany will be completely ineffective (due to German pacts and trade deals with the USSR) and 2) that Germany isn't the only threat the Allies have to be concerned about (Stalin participated in the partition of Poland, and in attacked Finland in November '39 [Winter War]).
