Anyone who have read the Saxon Stories by Bernard Cornwell? I have read the first six books. What do you think about the historicity of the series? Of course it is fiction, but are there anything that goes against what is considered historical facts? What about the way the different characters are presented? In the historical note to the fifth book, Cornwell admits that he is very unfair towards Aethelred, the leading man of English Mercia. Are there anything else that goes against what we know about the period?
