Largest possible Sweden

Norway and Finland are held onto. The dual monarchy of Norway-Sweden could stay and then they annex Finland later. They could then expand into Russia, Germany or the Dutch.

I don't see that it would be for Sweden very easy re-annex Finland on 19th century.

But Sweden could be victorious on Finnish War and keep Finland and perhaps too conquer part of Russian Karelia. Later Sweden could get from Denmark Norway and Bornholm. Perhaps its Atlantic colonies too.

I've always been partial to the Swedish royal house marrying a Romanov and eventually ending up with a dual Russo-Swedish monarchy. Yeah, I know, Lutherans and Russian Orthodox aren't likely to pair well.

Depending on what time cotext you're looking at I suppose but it's not hard to imagine Swedish control over the entire Scandinavian Peninsula including the entire Kola Peninsula. Possibly even taking in St Petersburg.

All of the Nordic Realm, the Baltic states and parts of the North European coast; both Sweden and Denmark did the latter two things at different times, so it would'nt be to hard for a Sweden that controls all of Fennoscandia to take them both and hold them.

I think there is little doubt they would have a certain hold over northern Europe. Whether they could hold onto those gains however......

Let Karl XI Gustav annex Denmark 1660 and the Sea Powers for some reason accept it (halving the Sound toll, perhaps?).

From there, campaign to tie the Swedish posessions in northern Germany together - Schweswig, Holstein and Gottorp to Bremen, Lauenburg and Mecklenburg-Schwerin to Wismar and Vorpommern.

With Norway, Iceland and Greenland added with the Danish annexation this is a lagre realm.

Adding Courland in a war against Poland-Lithuania, Far Karelia and Kola in a war against Russia and then some colonisation and you have a large realm.

Are we talking about the largest Sweden itself? If that is the case, then I'm not sure if a Swedish-led "Kalmar Union" analogue would have worked.

Alexsandr Nevski loses to Sweden in 1240/ Novgorod and it's Northern territories around the White Sea, the North Dvina Basin and the Pechora all the way to the Urals are taken by the Swedes. Sudzalia is open to Sweden all the way to the lands of the Golden Horde. The way for Sweden is clear into Ugria (not Siberia since the Khanate of Sibir has not yet been founded and may be butterflies away).
At that point, Swedish conquest of Northernmost Europe is likely to endure even if Muscovy later succeeds in unifying the Eastern Slavs in the wake of the Golden Horde's retreat since the Northern and Northeastern Europeans are speakers of Finnic languages and now are likeoy to either remain so, or pick up Swedish.
