Largest possible Japan/Germany

Japan and Germany expanded exponentially during this period of time. After WW1 and WW2, they either gained, or lost every colony outside their homelands. Now, make a world where Japan and/or Germany has as much territory as plausible into modern day. Any combination of PoDs is allowed. And a larger Germany doesn't necessarily have to exist in the same world as a larger Japan

Germany is pretty easy, a CP victory in WW1 would give it the Polish Border strip, a bit of land in France, economic satellites in Europe and colonies as compensation/reparations. By the time decolonisation rolls around 50-70 years later Germany is a big country at the centre of an economic bloc in Europe and a diplomatic web around the world.

Japan is maybe a bit tougher, perhaps a major diversion in domestic politics after the conquest of Manchuria but before the invasion in China. That would give Japan Taiwan, Korea and Manchuria as economic satellites and perhaps Sakhalin as home territory, but as an island Japan proper is pretty well bounded geographically and culturally.
