Avoid the sacking of Moscopole by Albanians in 1769 and the subsequent capture and destruction of the city by Ali Pasha in 1788, it was one of the largest cities in the Balkans and had a population of around 60,000-70,000, compared with Athens which only had a few thousand people living there. It hosted the first printing press in the Balkans outside of Constantinople and was home to numerous cultural and educational institutions that promoted Aromanian culture. Its destruction led to the exile of many Aromanians who returned to a pastoral way of life, eventually becoming assimilated by the Greeks, forced on by the Church and government.
You would have a small state consisting of southern Albania, western and northern Greece with Moscopole as its capital.
