La tierra virgen – A Philippines timeline

LA TIERRA VIRGEN
Preface
The main problem in the Philippines is that the Philippines was tribal before the Spanish came – the Spanish destroyed any foundation of what could have been in our archipelago and the Filipinos increased their population while still being tribal and feudal.

The Japanese have been through of the Tribal stage and their former language groups like Kumaso and Hayato in Kyushu have lost their individuality and the former languages became relexified and influenced by Yamato/Central Japanese and became dialects gradually but the process happened in centuries not forced and overnight like what is happening in our country.

This is what I am preventing in this timeline.

The Change of Heart of Ferdinand Magellan

On 1513, the Ternatean wife of Ferdinand Magellan gives birth to a healthy son, and she survives and because of that he does not leave ternate and go back to Europe.

Due to this, the Portuguese and the later unified Iberia and the Habsburg were able to monopolize the trade to the orient.

The birth of this child would change the history forever, Spain would not have means to find a route to the indies…at this point of time, the people of the Land of Gold are under Bruneian yoke and the minor states in it were under Bruneian vassalage and it gets gold from the mountains of that land while the Visayan states are warring with each other.

The people of the Golden Land want to end the Bruneian yoke and the extraction of gold in their land.

One of the sons of Ferdinand Magellan and his wife ended up in the Bruneian court as one of the advisors of the Sultan of Brunei, his name was Alfonso and converted a part of the Bruneian court and converted some of the people of Brunei to Christianity, A daughter of Datu Lapu Lapu, Sulu chieftain named Amihan married Alfonso, the two were happy and married and made a lot of children.

Ferdinand Magellan and Lapu Lapu become friends due to their children and Ferdinand Magellan was able to retire in Sulu with his wife where they were both buried.

The Spanish discovery of Filipinas and Carolinia
On 1540, the Spanish under Philip II decided to make another expedition North to find a route to the East headed by Pigafetta but they made a route north which was safer to sail, they traversed the land of the Eskimos and Tlingit and went to the land of the Eskimos that they called the land as Carolinia(OTL Alaska, Chukchi Peninsula and Kamchatka area).

Pigafetta decided to go forward after going to Carolinia and discovered the land of Ezo and Kuril which he called as Filipinas and found out that he went to Japan and interacted with the people of Japan and went to Kyoto to see the Emperor of Japan.

The Spanish had an easy time at securing Carolinia but not Filipinas due to the Japanese wanting the Islands but the Spanish were able to secure it, the colony of Filipinas in Ezo will be short lived.
