La république Fédérale Française de La France

What if and could have France developed into a federal republic like Germany from 1789 onwards with each constituent state allowed to be bilingual and the national economy less centralised?

I suppose it could've happened after one of France's numerous revolutions, or possibly even after WWII, when the republic was restored.

But your title says "The French Federal Republic of the France". To the best of my knowledge, it should be "la republique federale de France".

More like: "La république fédérale Française".
Seriously it is unlikely for France to choose a decentralised form of government. The country was already united for centuries unlike Germany.

Exactly. Departmentalisation has stuck since the French Revolution.

The only way I'd see is if the old provinces remained. To do that requires that the Revolution would be less mild than it was in OTL, however - essentially a "Révolution tranquille", to anachronistically borrow a Québécois term.
