Kurt Cobain doesn't commit suicide

Foo Fighters wouldn't be half as popular as it is since being the "drummer of Nirvana" is not important in this timeline. I see Kurt being like an Axl Rose in the present; outworn, just like Family Guy portrayed him, but sill not half as popular, maybe he would have a cult fanbase. And if he still didn't divorced Love, she would have dumped him for Billy Corgan and the Pumpkins would be seen as the "sucessors of Nirvana".

No chance in any TL. After Mellon Collie they went the techno route with Adore which alienated people who were after the same old. Plus, this was released during the heyday of Nu Metal and the rise of Hip Hop. SP would never been seen as successors to Nirvana.

I think they apealed to Adore because all the attention they recieved because of Mellon Connie was ending, but if they were seen as the new (Nevermindish)Nirvana probably something like Mellon Collie would happen again. Otherwise, you're right.

Nirvana was well on it's way to obscurity. Overstatement, but the direction they were heading. IF Dave Grohl starts his side band, it rapidly becomes evident that the new talent was in town, and Nirvana slides even further into oblivion.

think Stone Temple Pilots with a band member jumping to the forefront.

If the Foo Fighters still do exist ITTL, "I'll Stick Around" (written about the royalty battles between Courtney Love and the surviving members of Nirvana) is likely butterflied away (since the song was their first music video, one wonders how succesful they would be without that song).
