Kristalnacht and Munich

This is a refinement of an idea I discussed sometime back:

Returning from his second trip to Germany Chamberlain’s airplane crashes as its about to land in the UK. It’s a terrible accident but while a number of people onboard are killed Chamberlain however while suffering serious injuries is in full control of his faculties with a few hours and insistent that only he can conclude a deal with Hitler. The logical plan is to wait until he is well enough to travel again. Hitler is naturally furious, however with people from all sides, including Mussolini, pressing him to continue the talks and with Hitler’s desire to maintain the diplomatic fig leaf that he exhausted all peaceful options before going to war. Some elements in the senior ranks of the Nazi’s had latched onto the idea of persuading Hitler that the Jews were trying to provoke a war as a way of getting Hitler to back away from conflict over the Sudetenland. Now they choose to seize on the idea of ‘Jewish saboteurs’ having tried to kill Chamberlain to wreck the talks and start a war. Hitler seizes on this notion as a way of unleashing his pent up anger and frustration. His public denunciations launch Kristallnacht.

Still recovering from his injuries Chamberlain is confronted with the full gristly details of Kristallnacht from both newspapers and diplomatic messages.

So the question is, what difference, if any, does it make in the governing circles in London, Paris, Rome, Prague, and Washington?
