Hey Alternatehistory.com, first time posting so dont be too harsh if this sounds totally implausible
In January 1934, Ernst Rohm sent Von Blomberg a memorandum asking to replace the army with the SA. In OTL Hitler sided with the army rather than the SA, eventually purging the SA to gain the armies loyalty.
What if Hitler had agreed with the demands of the SA and the national peoples army? With the fear of being replaced, would the old conservative elite have started a civil war to defend their place in Germany? Could the clashing of the Nazis vs the Reactionaries to the point of weakening both sides be the "Capitalist crisis" that the KPD (or at least its masters in Moscow) be waiting for before national revolution? Or was a communist uprising always doomed to fail due to the capitalist powers surrounding it?
Thoughts?
