Korobov's Rifle Chosen

Is was wondering, in reference to another thread, what would have happened had Korobov's TKB-408 bullpup assault rifle been chosen as either:
A) The best rifle tested (ahead of the AK-47).

or

B) Not the best rifle tested, but nevertheless funded for further development as a 'carbine' (for use by vehicle crews).

Would the Soviets having a bullpup assault rifle in the 50s have changed anything?

Not on any scale that actually mattered or be noticed. Close to zero impact on the Afghanistan war.

I imagine the -408 would have been replace long before then by something better, and probably smaller. I was actually thinking more of the way the West and the Soviets tended to copy each others' weapons, would the TKB-408 or a later replacement have spurred the west to seek a bullpup rifle of their own do you think?
