The was two offencive plan for th weest front in germany in the end of 1944-offencive in Ardennes and less ambitious plan-"cutting off" Aachen ledge with 9th American Army in it. This operation was called "Kleine Loesung"-"Small decision" Authors thought, that german troops could defeat 15 american division-but hitler liked more ambitious plan-ofencive in Ardennes.
But wf he would sanction 'Kleine Loesung", not Ardennes offencive.
Arguments for Hitler: "wir muessen heiliges deutsche Territorium von Amerikaneren erloesen!"(if i havent forgotten german language once and for all, it means "we must liberate sacred(or holy?) german territory from americans!")
Could germany do that?
