Kingdom of the Tidewater

Compared to New England, Virginia and Maryland were polar opposites. Their leaders and population for the most part were Royalist and stuck out as Royalist strongholds during the Commonwealth. How then can we get Virginia and Maryland to secede or be appointed as a Kingdom within or without the English Kingdom.

Well, youve always got the Brazil option, where the monarch flees to the colonies. Of course Virginia during the civil war was a lot less developed than brazil during the napoleonic wars.

You've also got Thande's Look to the West option. If you havent read that you really should.

If the ARW never happened, then its possible the polities in America might become their own principalities and eventually kingdoms. I say polity rather than colony, because some of them would surely be confederations of ex-colonies.
