King of Ireland- after Invasion of 1779

It's generally accepted that one of the best chances for a successful invasion of Great Britain is the French and Spanish Armada of 1779. Suppose there was an invasion that succeeded, or was at least good enough to rip Ireland away (through force or peace talks) as a separate country? France and Spain were both ruled by monarchs- can't see them agreeing to a republic. But who would be the new king?
Is there a local with a strong enough claim (at least backed by foreign guns)? Charles III (Bonnie Prince Charlie)? Or would they pick one of the underemployed princes available in Europe? I assume he'd have to be Catholic to be acceptable (and male).

Absolutely Charles III Stuart. His wife at the time is only 27, too, so him suddenly taking an interest in producing a legitimate heir isn't out of the question. If Louise couldn't conceive, there isn't a ton of options other than the Savoyard succession, although due to the circumstances surrounding the marriage I don't think an annulment is completely out of the question (as the marriage had completely soured by 1779). The Stuarts, after all, were well-regarded wards of the Papacy.

Charles, Henry (Stuart) then Charles Emmanuel, Victor Emmanuel (di Savoia) and Maria Beatrice (provided no other intervening male heirs are born in lieu of. Could Victor E. Be convinced to marry a legitimised Charlotte?
