If Macbeth (not the stupid Shakespeare version but the actual capable king) had defeated Malcolm III in battle in 1057 and lived on to reign as king, what do people think might have happened?

Mostly because Moray/Fortriu dominance over Scotland would probably share similar features, even more giving we're talking of close (chronologically speaking) PoDs.

Doesn't mean it was a full part of Scotland as we could understand it : like Fortriy or Isles, it had enough autonomy and "periphericality" to live its own (as said in the other thread, being into Scotland sphere never prevented it to be fairly close to Anglo-Saxon kings)
