Kerry drops out of 2004 race...Dean nominated!

January 26,2004

With financial pressures mounting against his campaign, Senator John Kerry (D-Mass) has pulled out of the race and has endorsed former Vermont Gov. Howard Dean.

Supposing Gov. Dean built a strong anti-Iraq war platform focusing instead on Bin Laden and other issues where Bush was weak like healthcare and the economy.

Could be have beaten Bush?

If Dean were the nominee, Bush would have won the election by a bigger margin than he did IOTL. For one thing, it would have been easier for the Rove team to mobilize evangelicals due to Dean's support for same-sex marriage.

Dean lost too much credibility when he attacked his opponents in January, 2004. Bush will be a shoe-in.
