Kerensky launched an offensive against the Ottoman Empire, instead of Austria-Hungary

An alt-Kerensky Offensive might be more successful but smaller than OTL's Brusilov/Kerensky Offensive due to the terrain of the Caucasus and we might see any Bolshevik Revolution being delayed.

Not a very good time for the Ottomans to be invaded by the Russians, but it probably won't be that huge of a breakthrough to collapse the Ottomans. The Ottomans aren't as big of a priority to Russia than Austria or Germany, as the Ezurum offensive was a success, the Russians don't really need to make an offensive against the Ottomans, but if they did, it would likely stall depending on where they go. The British were afraid the Russians might occupy Baghdad, but the Russians are not used to fighting in the desert, so in Anatolia is likely where they'd fight. The Ottomans would be fighting the Russians deep in Anatolia, so the Ottomans can react quickly to a Russian advance if they already don't have enough soldiers at the front already.

Problem is, Kerensky not only thought he had to reboost order, confidence and military momentum with a "republican" offensive; he also knew that he had to Stick, in broad terms, to a defensive doctrine. Attacking German / A-H holdings was compatible with a defensive doctrine because it was liberating occupied Russian territory. In Anatolia, otoh, Russian troops were already standing on conquered ground, and even though the protection of armenians against genocide provides "some" sort of Cover, it is rather thin, so an advance here was clearly politically harder to sell (even though militarily perhaps easier).

Might Kerensky have been able to sell a more "hold the line" sort of approach, justifying it with the need for the military to regroup after the heavy losses suffered as a result of Czarist mismanagement and incompetence?

And, if Russia under the Provisional Government neither engages in any large-scale offensives against Germany and Austria-Hungary, nor collapses in 1917-18, butterflying the October Revolution, that would likely either prevent Germany's Spring Offensive, or at least force the Germans to use less manpower for it. With both the Western and Eastern Fronts being a going concern, Germany's position in 1918 becomes even more impossible than OTL. All Russia would have to do is outlast them.

The thread, that, I mentioned also said, that, there were several Russian Black Sea Fleet plans for attacks against the Ottomans that included destroying coal mines and railroads and freeing prisoners of war.
