Kennedys Dangers of smoking released earlier?

I remember reading about that JF made an order for a report to look into if smoking was dangerous.
In OTL Tobacco industry lobbyist prevented the report from being release to late 1970s.
But if they hadn't been able to prevent its release? And that it had been finished before Kennedys death?

Would we have anti-smoking US decades earlier?

This is a DBWI? ???
The Surgeon General's report on the dangers of smoking was released in 1964, and was HUGE.

I think that if e.g. JFK had tried to squash the report, the Surgeon General would have resigned and made an even BIGGER splash.

I really don't think there's ANY way that report could have been squashed.

Now. If you want a POD, you could say the tobacco industry convinced jfk not to start looking or convinced him to pull the plug before much work got done on it. But that wouldn't be nearly as 'conspiracy theory' as you seem to want for this TL.

Are you sure? Cause I heard that thanks to Tobacco lobbyist the report was watered down?
And the whole report was not known until the 1970s?
