Keep Quebec City French

I just noticed that Quebec city really is not that deep inside Canada. I was wondering is there any way that the French could have kept it?

Also if they can keep it, is there any way for the French to keep Montreal and the land in between the two cities?

That would be to much, there needed to be a land connection between New Foundland and Ontario. The English did not need Quebec City.

There would be no point for the British to hold anything west of Quebec City without holding the city. The St. Lawrence was the main geographic thruway for everything.

Correct. Quebec City is the lynchpin to Canada. It sits at point where the St. Laurence narrows. If Quebec City falls, then Canada falls.
