I know, another “what if” Cold War question.
How could you keep the high tensions of the 1979 to 1985 phase of the Cold War going for another say, 5 years? What would need to happen and who would need to be replaced? Whilst I’m not asking directly how to stop the USSR from collapsing, it could still collapse in 1991, just without the warming of east/west relations in the late 80s.
