Keep Central Asia Iranian speaking?

Is it possible to, with a relatively easy PoD, keep Central Asia Iranian-speaking and not have the Turkic invasions, or at least assimilate them into speaking the native Iranian languages? Or does this mean having to butterfly away Genghis and the very Mongolian Empire leading to mass migrations across Eurasia? (Which becomes almost ASB based on new climate and demographic discoveries of that time period, the Mongols et al were predestined to HAVE to start migrating and conquering, or dying en masse, after a period of great climate gave way to overpopulation when the climate dried out).

Turkic domination of Central Asia, especially in the northern portions, has been around much longer that Genghis Khan. Basically, you need a Genghis-like figure to unite the Iranic pastoralists, and to form nomadic empires, after all, the place is just one huge plain. You'd need to make the horseback lifestyle more prevalent within the Iranic peoples. On the other hand, nomadic empires are very prone to falling and rising rapidly, and with these hordes and low population densities, entire peoples can change homeland in a matter of centuries.

I don't think this even requires a Genghis-like figure. For a long period, the Turkic peoples were based further east, in the territory of present Mongolia, parts of Russia and parts of China.

IMO, you need to stop the rise of the Gokturk Khaganate. If the Rourans defeat them, either wiping them out or driving them elsewhere, this could work. Of course, if they're driven out they'd most likely go into Central Asia, but you can always have them leave for other pastures as a result of Iranian attacks, thus driving them into Russia.

Also, there were a lot of instances of nomadic tribes getting completely exterminated, usually as part of a trick by some Chinese ruler. Wouldn't be impossible to kill off large chunks of the Turkic population like this, in a situation like after the An Lushan Rebellion against the Tang.

I don't know about the "relatively easy" and the "not have the Turkic invasions" portions, but the process existed in real life- the Hazaras in Afghanistan are generally considered to be descended from Mongol or Turkic invaders (along with some undetermined mixture of pre-existing peoples), but they speak Dari/Persian. Likewise, many Tajiks (also Dari/Persian speaking) appear Mongol/Turkic- and I've seen many who appearance would fit in Korea.

I doubt a single POD would work, but a series might be doable.
