Kaiserreich: Legacy of the Weltkrieg

Also how would syndicalist nations treat religion. I know in the CSA there is a blurb about Dororthy Day and the Catholic worker movement, so I assume there at least is freedom of religion and militant atheism might not be a thing in the CSA.
That probably depends from state to state and the political history of each country, as well as which are the most dominant factions within Syndicalist countries.
Also in regards to religion, are there differences among certain kinds of syndicalists in regards to religion? Like are totalists more in the vein of state atheists where as your progressives are relatively tolerant of faith?
Totalists are totalitarian, so they'd want to control every aspect of life. This generally leads to conflicts with religious authorities because totalitarian ideologies try to mold the faith to support their ideology or actively try to suppress it if they can't. With Marxism having a certain influence too, you can also expect some sort of state atheism given on how they interpret "Religion is the people's opium".

For other brand of syndicalism, it probably depends on the local political landscape. In most countries religious authorities were seen as aligning with right-wing forces, so they probably wouldn't be that popular in Syndicalist movements. But you also have had cases of left-wing believers that could have created their own brand of syndicalism. I even think among the Papal options in Kaiserreich, one of the possible Popes is very sympathetic to the syndicalist cause.
Also, do certain faiths get hated on more in certain countries? Like are syndicalists in Britain going to hate the C of E but are more okay with nonconformists, or are Catholics going to be persecuted in Syndie republics in France and Italy?
Catholics are probably going to suffer a bit in the Commune of France because the French left generally was opposed to the Church, for historical reason as the Church wasn't originally favorable to the French Revolution which the left-wing puts on a pedestal. The fact you also have a faction that calls itself Jacobins speaks in that favor, considering who they are modelling themselves on.

I imagine you have similar situations in other countries.

In Italy, the radsoc faction are christian socialists iirc, so they probably won't be doing anything destructive towards religion if they come to power.

Interesting to see how De La Rocque's politics are portrayed. There is definitely a far more conservative and authoritarian streak to him compared to OTL De Gaulle: very strong support of catholicism, active suppression of the left ("Behead the red snake") and possibly a few totalitarian/fascistic focus given a Mass Membership Programme and the use of one of Vichy's propaganda image for a focus ("Towards Social Harmony" is based on a propaganda poster that read "Travail, Famille, Patrie"). Think the authoritarian streak might be a bit too strong, but otherwise it seems pretty close to the man.

Kinda love how François Mitterand is one of the possible successors of De La Rocque. Most people probably don't expect it because he was France's first Socialist president OTL, but in his younger years he was a lot more to the right-wing spectrum of French politics. Not sure if he'd be that close to De La Rocque but Mitterand always had a bit of an opportunistic side to him so I definitely see him take his chance with them if he feels that can get him a position of power. A bit surprised of how nasty he seems to turn though: his focus tree leans far more turned towards Ultra-Nationalism and Conservatism than the other two and even give me some fascist vibes.

Charles Vallin OTL was a député of the PSF who later joined the French Resistance, so him being one of the possible successors of De La Rocque feels natural. Even his foci seem to align with the continuity of De La Rocque, with an implementation of the Social aspects of Christiannity that De La Rocque probably can't implement because he would have to deal with the aftermath of the mainland's reconquest. And I like how Vallin can basically choose between reforming towards a more liberal democratic ideal (though firmly anchored on the right) or keep the authoritarian aspect of the regime.

Don't know much about François Coty but him being portrayed as a Bonaparte-wanabee seems close to the man from what I've read. The thing though is that he seems to have died in 1934 at the age of 60... So there might be a problem there.

I also read that Coty was a Fascist having founded the Fascist movement called Solidarity Francaise, and Coty being an Industrialist himself, numerous French Industrialists dabbled in Far-Right politics during the interwar OTL.

Do you reckon they’d keep the socdem pope if he gets elected and the SRI win the Unification?
IMO People's Pope + any non-Mussolini SRI = SRI respects the pope's religious authority albeit insists on revocation of temporal authority. It'd just be too big of a PR clusterfrakas to go through with unless the Pope was the crazy far-right one. People's Pope preaches a doctrine the syndies can support, too.

Solidarité Française is a Far Right league true, but it seems to have taken a more fascistic turn only after Coty's death in 1934.

As for Coty himself, he was definitely on the right-wing of the spectrum and staunchly anti-communist, which is why he funded or supported many right-wing or frar-right organizations and journals. However, from what I understand, he didn't completely cross the line into Fascism: he seems more to be in the line of right-wing men who wanted a stronger executive compared to the legislative like De Gaulle or De La Rocque. Probably was more radical than both though... And in his later years, he seems to have really seen himself as some sort of providential man and a new Bonaparte. Hell, he regularly called himself a Bonapartist throughout his life so thinking he's the new Napoleon doesn't seem like too much of a stretch...

They commented about the socialist dude

"Mitterand is PatAut with the Authoritarian Christian Democracy subideology in-game, he is quite different from his OTL presidency because his path is based on the beliefs he had during his youth (he was menber of the CDF and was against what he called and "invasion métèque"). The other sucessors also are PatAut Authoritarian Christian Democracy except for reform Vallin who can become AuthDem Authoritarian Christian Democracy in his reform path."

I wonder since AUS and CSA seems to go down a dark path and Feds are in no state to fight. Could Pacific State potentially be the “good” faction of this story?

They technically are the most democratic faction of all that remain. Plus Kaiser Cat say that they stay out of the early part of the war. So they should have fresh troops compare to CSA, AUS, Feds that have been fighting the war for 4 years.

Would be interesting since they are probably one of the less popular faction in ACW among player bases (from what I gather).

Well, the goal of the show seems to be to get to Denver, which is most likely in Pacific State hands and in the trailer, Emily says they have to get to Los Angeles, so I think that's a safe bet.

The fact they've been fighting for four years leads me to ask when exactly did the Germans start supporting the American Union State? I only ask because shouldn't the Combined Syndicates have an advantage over the AUS in terms of industry and manpower? Of course, if the Canadians are blocking their ports, then maybe their industry isn't as powerful as it could be.

Ladies and gentlemen.
With a heavy heart I come here with news so sad it hurts to write them, and even more to know that they are definitive.

Senator Huey Long, owner of the Senator Huey Long YouTube channel has passed away of COVID a few months ago, and I got it confirmed by a close friend of him on his discord.

Senator Huey Long has a channel that is very similar to mine, where he recorded and promoted Huey Long related historic documents, be speeches, songs, documentaries, everything. He managed to perfectly recreate the barbecue speech, that was not available in its complete version online, by getting all the excerpts from random sources he himself found and connecting in a video:
(If you check the live chat, I was talking with him during the release)

Senator Huey Long went into great lengths to keep Long history alive, he contacted sources, listened to songs, found pictures and in one single case made something that made the internet tremble, when he paid a Dixieland jazz band to re-record the "every man a king" song

Senator Huey Long leaves behind a large community, of which many are Kaiserreich fans like me who got introduced to Long thanks to the game. It is a terrible shame that such event happened.
