Kaiserreich: Legacy of the Weltkrieg

Did you know?

They are the same person

I would advocate for the Union having rump/token elements of the Liberals hanging around, yeah, even if in name only to mess with the Canadians.

The Liberals are still around. A faction of them led by Herbert Samuel broke away from the mainstream party and sided with the rebels during the civil war though they got gutted after the post-revolution "honeymoon" period (Basically what I refer to the time before the authoritarianism became a thing) and kind of exist on a very reduced form.

Mildly related to recent discussions on Totalism and internal variants, I was just thinking of theoretical sub-ideologies Kaiserreich could use ala CBTS, and this is what I came up with for Totalism with GFX made by me:
Charterism.png

Totalism: "Deriving its name from the so-called "Totalist Charter" of Oswald Mosley, Totalism combines traditionally socialist economic systems with a highly centralized totalitarian state, militarism, and revolutionary ultranationalist - if not outright racialist - ideals"
vangaurdism.png

Vangaurdism: "Vangaurdism refers to leftist movements that explicitly call for a "revolutionary vanguard" party to guide the international workers' movement, which means it's effectively under an authoritarian government. Leninism is one of the most prominent forms of Vangaurdism."
Centralism.png

Centralism: "Centralism is any socialist government that uses a highly centralized and usually authoritarian state to enact it's goals, but is otherwise not radical enough to be considered Vangaurdist or Totalist."

I find it kind of odd that the Union of Britain is the socialist country that goes authoritarian, rather than the Commune of France, considering the fact that you'd think France would be far more radicalized and focused on vengeance against Germany. I'm also not sure how I feel about the fact that the UoB's authoritarianism is entirely the fault of two individuals. Generally speaking, countries become authoritarian due to systemic problems, usually with its ability to protect the state apparatus from harm, whether from outside or within. I just don't see any specific threats that would cause the UoB to desire more authoritarian measures to protect itself than France. Wouldn't it be a more interesting critique if the UoB had slid into authoritarianism, not through the actions of a few individuals, but through the issues in the system as a whole? Granted, it could and probably is a combination of these factors that led to the authoritarianism in the first place, but it's early and I haven't completely woken up yet.

We'll probably get more info once the reworked UoB dev diary gets released.

I agree with this. Honestly, I would rather have it be democratic but unstable at game start, with Mosley's possible takeover being him capitalizing on economic difficulties and/or partisan gridlock.

Got bored, made sub-ideologies of National Populism:
National Corporatism.png

National Corporatism - "National Corporatism combines ultranationalist social and political beliefs that usually have a sense of national renewal with an economic structure that has various people organized into different corporate groups, all under a totalitarian government."
Integralist Monarchism PNG.png

Integralism - Different Integralist movements have many different ideas that all may not embrace, such as antisemitism, Christian trade unionism, and localism. However, all Integralist movements are extremely socially conservative, authoritarian, and above all else put the powers of the government in the hands of a strong catholic monarch.
Religious Esotericism PNG.png

Religious Esotericism - "Religious Esotericism refers to movements that not only have major Theocratic elements but also change many parts of the original religion into something completely new and what their enemies would call heretical."
Ubernationalism.png

Ubernationalism - "Ubernationalist refers to ultranationalist regimes so extreme and having such a cult-like dedication to the nation and its leaders that it's far beyond even other National Populist governments. Ubernationalist regimes are brutal and totalitarian where all are devoted purely to nation, party, and leader.

Epic!

Is there anyone here who is Brazilian/speaks Portuguese who can translate some of the Brazilian divisions’ custom names for me? Google translate version isn't making much sense(on a side note, I really enjoy playing countries who have custom division name lists instead of just generic unit titles—for example, Brazil and Siam).

Paratrooper Divisions: “Senta a Puà”, “Serrano”, “Agulhas Negras“(Black Eagles I‘m guessing?) and ”Corcovado”.

Mechanized Divisions: “Matarazzo“, “Renner” and “Quinto dos Infernos”.

Marine Divisions: “Osòrio“ and “Jacares“.

Armored Divisions: “Tamoio“ and “Taupia”.

Basically I just thought those unit names sounded particularly cool and wanted to know if anyone knew what they meant.

Paratrooper "Give hell", "Mountains" (not really sure about it), "Agulhas Negras" (that is the main brazilian army academy, Academy of the Agulhas Negras), "Corcovado", this mountain

"Mattarazo" (A brazilian-italian industrialist), "Renner" (industrialist), "Quinto dos infernos" (a brazilian expression for a damned place)

Marine "Osório" a Marshall, "Aligator" (not really sure about this one too)

Armoured "Tamoio" (a tribe), "Taupia" (a tribe too)

So Savinkov?
Who would be a Centralist?

My idea of some examples for who would be each sub-ideology:

Totalism - Mosley, Mussolini, other Red-Fascists
Vangarudism - Foster, the French Jacobins
Centralism - Earl Browder, Eric Blair

National Corporatism - Savinkov, Italo Balbo
Integralism - Brazil and Portugal NatPops
Religious Esotericism - WD Pelley, Zhang Tianran
Ubernationalism - Iron Guard Romania

Anyway a couple more sub-ideologies things:
Vangaurdism Red Shield.png
Vangaurdism Red Star.png
Religious Esotericism Alt.png

Showed my icons to some people on Discord, they gave me some suggestions so here are some alternate versions of Vangaurdism and Religious Esotericism

Authoritarian Democrat Subideologies:
Authoritarian Populism PNG.png

Authoritarian Populism - Authoritarian Populist regimes combine populist ideals (which generally consist of mixed-capitalist economics, the reformation of long-standing social and political orders for the 20th century, and patriotism) with a strong executive that is able to enact this program relatively unhampered.
Reactionary.png

Reactionary - Reactionary as an ideology emphasizes opposition to recently achieved economic, social, and political reforms. Often Authoritarian in structure, Reactionaries seek to maintain a strong government and restore recently lost traditions against a new liberal order.
Military Junta PNG.png

Military Junta - A Military Junta refers to a nation or government that has been taken over by military figures in order to promote stability, usually against some hardline or radical group that previously held power or was about to. While in theory they promise to soon give up their power and return to a more formal system, in practice that event is a rarity. (I'm thinking this would be shared with PatAut)

Sorry if my text is a bit wonky lol I'm tired while typing this.

Also a symbol for Syndicalism, but I honestly couldn't think of sub-ideologies for it. If anyone has ideas please let me know.
