I had the most imperial japanese campaign possible with imperial japan on kr, it was impressive.

First some music

So, I began my campaign by focusing on civilian industry and expanding the navy, while adopting the mobility doctrine. After the national security law was barred I created the Taisei Yokusankai, then proceeded to demand the hawaiian pacific, they refused of course so I made a fast invasion because they cannot say no.
Then came China, of which I had been putting a press for a long while, and since I'm with the same guy in power to placed Japan on the axis (Fumimaro Konoe), I ended at war with Fengtian after they refused to give me observer status (by the way, the only country that took part of the co prosperity conference in tokyo was thailand and they quitted, well, another target for invasion). I defeated fengtian after three months.

Really, there is any other strategy for this kind of Japan apart from burning everything close to you?

(Of course I do not endorse the japanese imperialism, on many times they made the nazis seems sane and a Natpop Japan led asia is the most bleak scenario possible, it is similar to asia led by Dai Li totalist China.)

It probably would improve with the "democracy survives" path. Japan is imperialist in its foreign policy in Kaiserreich. Racism... it probably goes with the territory of being an imperialist power.

Still racist and imperialist, but nowhere near as comprehensively and structurally insane as in the OTL 1930s/1940s. Keep in mind that OTL senior government officials were sometimes murdered by junior military officers for not being pro-war enough. Not even being anti-war, being insufficiently enthusiastic for insane ultraviolence against all the neighbors.

That there is still a democratic government strong enough to possibly resist a coup says that the Taisho era for whatever reason didn't descend into the same degree of death spiral the same way. Maybe Taisho himself managed to deal with his chronic mental health issues better? Some sources claim that he was fairly liberal early on in his reign, maybe his health recovers in the early 1920s? I'm not terribly certain, though, because there aren't that many reliable English-language sources on 1920s-1930s Japan, and a lot of them disagree on the roles of the Emperors. Or maybe crazies like Araki weren't allowed undue influence over recruitment?

Either way, Japan in KR can easily go at least as bad as OTL. The Three Alls policy (kill all, burn all, loot all) is one of the ways they can deal with China. The Kodoha make Tojo and his goon squad look sane. Even marklib Japan is still a happily imperialistic, racist regime.

KR Japan's 'thing' seems to be that unlike many other countries in KR it is pretty close to OTL, but shifted in relative time so it's closer to the OTL Japan of, say, 1930, more so than 1936, a point where democracy might not be completely unsalvageable (and, therefore, allowing the Hand of the Player more room to influence things).

3rd February
In the German Empire, the German Economy Finally stops Sinking ~ instead, it Plunges. Fuelled by the Instability Caused by the Collapse of the American Stock Market, Combined with the Fear of changes in the French Commune and the Russian SFSR Causes Investors to Rapidly Withdraw their Assets. As soon as the Berlin Stock Market Opens, Panic Selling Erupts. It takes well into the Night for the Teleprinters to stop Sputtering out the Results of what will become Known as “the Black Monday.” Once the Results have been Analysed, everyone Understands that One of the German Elite’s worst Nightmares has just become Reality.

5th February
In the German Empire, German Citizens, Panicked by the Collapse of the Berlin Stock Market, are Rushing into the Banks to try and Withdraw their Assets before they become Worthless. The Banks are not Able to Afford to give out such Sums and many are in Danger of Collapse. It Appears Government Legislation is Urgently needed, and Imperial Chancellor Franz von Papen Orders that the Banks be Closed Temporarily.

6th February
In the Kingdom of Poland, there is never any Doubt that the Effects of Black Monday will Spread throughout the German ~ Dominated World, and Poland will not be Immune from this Unprecedented Economic Disaster. Although Economically Isolated from most of Europe, Poland’s Economy still Relies heavily on German Trading. News that the Berlin Stock Market has Collapsed Triggers a Run on the Stock Market in Warsaw and People are already Demanding that the Government take Action. Poland can only Hope to Survive the coming Storm.

9th February
In the German Empire, the Situation does not get better Following the Black Monday, which is the start of what will become Known as the Black Week. Panic ~ Selling of Stocks Reaches an all ~ Time high, and when the Stock Market Closes at the End of the Week, 11 Economic Figures in Germany have Committed Suicide, and the Market is as good as Dead. Most of the Middle Classes have lost all their Savings and the Working Classes cannot Afford to Eat; under these Conditions only the Super Rich are Able to make a Profit. What is bad for Germany is Excellent for Adolf Hitler and the German National Party. The Sturmabteilung Immediately begins a Massive Recruitment Drive to take Advantage of the Mass of Unemployed Men, and many new Recruits are ready to Flock to them, seeing it as a way of Rebeling against their Parents’ Authority and for the Excitement of doing something Frowned on. The Nationalist’s Election Machine also goes into full Swing, Presenting Hitler as the Strong Man who Germany Desperately needs. The Nationalists have few Detailed Policies; their Focus is on Hitler, "der Führer." It is a Dramatic Turnaround for Hitler, and, as a Result, Money is soon Flowing into Nationalist Coffers from Supportive Businessmen.

3rd April
In the Kingdom of Poland, Angered by the Lack of a Government Response to the Economic Catastrophe, some on the Polish Right Decide it is Time to Act. Adam Doboszyński, an Army Officer with Nationalist Leanings, Decides to Mobilise his Branch of the “Patriots for Saving Poland” Organisation for a March on Warsaw, Intending to Petition the Sejm to Act to Save the Economy. The Marchers, many of whom Turn up Singing the Age ~ old Polish National Anthem, “Poland is Not Yet Lost,” have no Interest in Overthrowing the German Backed Monarchy ~ they Consider themselves to be Loyal Polish Citizens trying to Save Poland from Disloyal Ministers who had Misled the King and Caused the Economy to Collapse. Unfortunately the March does not go as Peacefully as Doboszyński had Planned, and, after an Attack on his Men by Socialists, Doboszyński Decides to Disarm the Local Police. Taking it as a Sign of Serious Problems within his Country, King Friedrich Christian Orders the Army be sent in to Arrest everyone Involved in what he Believes to be a “Treasonous Putsch.”

2nd June
In the Kingdom of Poland, Realising he must between a Government under either the Nationalist or Socialist Party or Poland will be in a Civil War in the near Future, King Friedrich Christian, who Disapproves of Socialist Policies, Invites the Head of the Polish Army, General Józef Piłsudski, a Nationalist, to become Prime Minister.

Look who leads the autdem republic of the equator, Goís Monteiro (I tough it was Goés Monteiro, tough), he's the general who couped the New State in 1945 and a germanophile, the second brazilian most influential axis friendly officer

The new UBD will not have any integration into Germany. On the plus side it sounds like despite Paul Schiemann's... less democratic tendencies, the Social Liberal path that is his Baltic-German Democratic Party can still end up in a fairly nice, democratic, progressive state. Though I do wonder if, if the UBD falls to a Forest Brothers uprising, Riga can reconstitute the UBD as a republican state, and if so, what that state would be like...

I can't wait to learn how Savinkov/Mosley/MacDaddy was searching for [enter some occult/pseudo-scientific/mythical bs here] and that was the most important part of the war.
Or about how the Syndicalism/German Empire/Weltkrieg/Michael Collins/American Civil War/other/all of the above was the work of the aliens.
