Kaiserreich: Legacy of the Weltkrieg

Sorry for the double post, but I just got the Serbia Constitutional Monarchy Route in my most recent game and I'm super happy about it :D

How did you manage that one? Both of my attempts resulted in geting forced into one of the very-much-dictatorial paths.
It's a bit of a convoluted process, and takes until 1941 to pull off.

So, first off, when it comes to the foci, only take three from each side (or don't take any, if you're super paranoid), with a fourth one later if you'd like (from either side).

The main key is in the events.

When the dude who used to run Serbia pre-rework asks to rejoin the army during the Fourth Balkan War, accept (you don't need to put him in charge of anything, just accept the offer)

When Prince Pavlos visits Yugoslavia in ~1938, agree that a Westminster-system would work (bottom option in the event).

EDIT: Sometime in this period, it should mention writing a Constitution— have the King get involved despite his young age.

Then, when Petar is giving a radio address ~1939, stay on script (otherwise, he'll be put under house arrest, and you won't be able to use the events)

Finally, if you've done all the above steps, you should get an event sometime in 1941 about someone planning a coup. Tell them to do it, and it'll switch you over to AuthDem— you then get elections that can give you either SocLib or SocCon.

You know what might be interesting? KR scenarios where one particular ideology, or group of related ideologies, achieve total victory and basically completely dominates the planet. Former allies turning on one another, entire nations taking their ideas to their logical conclusion with no one to stop them, really weird ideologies emerging in the empty void where the other parts of the political spectrum used to be, etc. Lots of potential I think. Maybe not for sequel mods but for one-shot scenarios definitely.

Turning Iran into a NatPop revanchist nation is kind of a genius move. As it was earlier Iran felt really generic: it could go in several ideological directions and all ended with war with the Ottomans because this is a wargame and we need war. Now there's a much stronger motivation behind Iran's actions and road to war, on top of integrating Iran and the Middle East more with the rest of the world by having this new NatPop regime clearly close to Savinkov's Russia and all the strategic consequences related to it (I can see Russia wanting Iran to win so they can have access to Iran's oil during the war with Germany while simultaneously denying oil to Germany).

Also, it's nice that the route to restore the traditional monarchy is still in. Something I didn't like with the White Ruthenia rework was how it greatly improved on historicity but didn't offer a way to restore some kind of monarchy like it was in older versions of the mod, even if it had to be a constitutional native one. I like when the new content still pays homage and let you restore something similar but more reasonable to how it was in the older versions of the mod.

Oh hey I forgot to check in here for a while, my internets been in the gutter. The Iran Rework is mine, Augenis and a few other peoples baby, I mostly handled the lore so if you have any questions about that, lemme know! There's already been some hottakes on the subreddit and the discord we've had to clear up lol
Will Iran be able to eventually turn against Russia while staying natpop?

Probably not, its a mutually beneficial relationship. The only exception would be if Russia flips to socialist or some other ideology that wants to withdraw from the partnership. Iran has every reason to keep it going though.

Very stoked and impressed at the work put into this rework!

Interestingly enough I'm over at a Kaiserreich-based RP and we made a couple of tweaks to the map to make it more 'plausible' as you say. There are a lot of similarities, independent Indochina, Italy being divided into 2 between the socialists and the Kingdom, Greece having Macedonia, Sand France has more land, etc..

That being said though we tried to keep it as close to the KR feel as possible, so unfortunately things like German Malaya and the Qing being a thing are still there. It is funny to see common motifs regarding how to make the setup more "plausible" being come up with independently though
