So do you guys remember that "German Intervention in China" scenario in Darkest Hour Kaiserreich?

I've been working a bit on updating it to current lore.

It's the same as the one in the Northern Expedition Progress Report. KMT on one end and Zhili, Nanjing, Fengtian and Shanxi cliques on the other. Germany, Japan and Transamur are also there.

Just out of curiosity, but whatever happened to the Marx Brothers and the Three Stooges when the Second American Civil War broke out?

The scenario is functional, though I have yet to add story events about Germany joining and etc. - still, it's shaping up quite well

She was born after the POD, so I'm not sure if she's even there in any recognizable capacity.

I find it interesting that, based on the text and shown focus tree, Officer Department Sichuan can apparently be a KMT province that aligns with the Federalists.

How do I download the China rework? For some reason I still have the AOG despite deleting and then downloading the game again. Could someone kindly help? Thank you!

The China rework isn't released yet, the progress reports are reports on their, well, progress towards finishing it.

Just out of curiosity, but what would everyday life be like for civilians living in the CSA and the other 2ACW factions?

Shit. Especially if you lived near the frontlines. Gun-running crooks will be everywhere, and communal violence will be a fact of life, as will epidemic disease, starvation, homelessness, child abandonment, and other bad things.

In the AUS, you run the risk of having your kids conscripted by Silver Legion paramilitaries (the Minutemen are loyal to a fault and there are a lot of them, but Huey's weaknesses will always be industry and manpower), dissent will be punished by WPC or Minuteman retribution, and if you're black the Klan will probably kill you and your entire family just for kicks. Whites run the risk of being killed by black pro-Red guerillas in retributive strikes, especially if they're too friendly with the Klan.

In MacArthur's USA, conscription will be back with a vengeance, though likely not for people as young as you'd see conscripted in the AUS (manpower will be one of Huey's big weaknesses, the Feds' problem is likely to be enthusiasm). "Un-American activity" and "disloyalty" will be common causes for summary execution, which will also be common. The self-proclaimed Commander in Chief is an arrogant, likely delusional tyrant with a Caesar fetish. Even if the US wins, the return of democracy is not guaranteed.

In a democratic USA, things will be a little better. The enthusiasm gap will be smaller, and even with an incredibly unpopular POTUS, at least he's POTUS, and you picked Landon and tries to salvage the situation after the election, then people would probably actually be willing to kill and die for him. The nation will be less authoritarian and local democracy will likely proceed mostly undisturbed, though national elections will still be suspended for the forseeable future. However, perceived disloyalty will likely draw retribution from neighbors, with limited assistance from the government at best due to the demands of the war.

In the CSA, things will be relatively good for a war-torn shithole. You have the manufacturing core, mass radicalization of the population means that enthusiasm is high, and they have much of the population. Conscription will be limited, and you will have a measure of democracy at a local and workplace level, even though the President and Congress are serving "for the duration of the crisis". Perceived disloyalty will still be a great way to get killed by your neighbors, though the government may make token efforts to stop this. In a revolt against a democratic USA, things will be a little worse; more conscription will be happening, and political officers will be a thing to ensure loyalty. In a revolt against a Garner-run, pro-Long USA, the main threat to those of less than absolute loyalty will not be political officers or secret police, but your own neighbors, who will see any sympathies for the "treacherous" Federal government as betrayal and selling out at best.

In the Pacific states, things are likely a little better just because the combat is going to be far from the most populous areas. Still, the national defense situation just went to Hell in a handbasket, and political strife will be bad even with the new political parties trying to be a stable multiparty regime. Also, leadership is very likely to be decided by negotiation between governors and state legislatures, rather than by general election. The Pacific states aren't properly a country at this stage, more an association of panicked "We can't commit to Long or Reed but MacArthur is scum" state leaderships banding together instead of hanging separately.

In Hawaii, the economy has collapsed, any major power that looks to the islands can basically do what they want, and political and ethnic tensions are at an all-time high, but at least any civil conflict can't do that much damage.

In New England, the lower class is riled up and mad as Hell, especially Irish-Americans, who will likely despise Ottawa and Eddie on ethnic/Irish nationalist grounds. The government is trying to walk the line between obeying their Canadian bosses and keeping the population from openly revolting. There's also a good chance that the Reds are marching through upstate New York and through Ontario. If the (likely heavily pro-Red) poor rise up, it's all over. However, if Ottawa somehow manages to set up the puppet regime without going to war with Reed over it, it's likely that New England will be a somewhat better, if still authoritarian, place, simply due to not being a war zone.

What ever happened to all of the rich folk you lived in Chicago and other major cities in the Rust Belt?

Really depends on how angry the Reds are. Some probably ran. Others probably got told "yeah, that company you inherited? It belongs to the workers now, you are no longer owner or CEO, but you're free to become an employee and will get an equal vote".

Actual murderous rage for the rich will probably be reserved for Henry Ford and other War Powers Committee goons as hate sinks. I don't see Henry Ford living very long post-war unless Comrade Flynn personally steps in.

Depends of what choices the CSA made. IDK if its still in there, but earlier versions had them choose between letting the rich run to Canada or shooting them for example.
