Kaiserreich-Far fetched alternate history or not?

He wasn't the only thinker along those lines. I mean, FDR didn't pick up Keynes' work in 1932 and say "aha!" nor did Japanese leader.

.

Well he couldn´t have done in 1932 because Keynes "General Theorie" was first published in 1936 ;)

If people will forgive some self-promotion, the top TL in my sig is partly an exploration of how to make the Union of Britain plausible. There's a chapter about the American Civil War, too (written in-universe by Noam Chomsky, hence the hints of propaganda) so you can critique how I've tried to justify what happens. Note that the US stuff isn't KR canon - officially Leonard Wood is meant to become President in 1920, which isn't, er, exactly what happens in The People's Flag.

I agree with everyone's points. France/Britain's Syndicalist revolutions are realistic, but the Second American Revolution/Civil War in my opinion would have been much better handled if there was no Pacific States of America in the game.

As for Russia, it would have been much better handled if there was no Siberia or Ural nations(I think that is new can't remember its exact name). If it was just Soviets vs the Russian Federation/a restored Russian Empire(which is dumb but an option none the less) and no foreign intervention(Germany can become super powerful if it intervenes and takes over vast swaths of Russia, either that or an event giving back seized territory to Russia would be nice)

As for Spain, I was fine with it really. In a reasonably more conservative Spain on the border of the Commune of France wherein the Carlists [historically] are disputing the throne I can buy a Carlist coup + Syndicalist revolution around that time both.

thus, I give Kaiserreich a 5/10, for being reasonably realistic, but with glaring historical flaws distracting from the game an crazy scenarios that keep it from receiving a 9 or a 10.

The USA would still have a Syndicalist Revolt IF the US government doesn't try to pursue Keynes. One explaination in universe for that is that Keynes was never able to publish his economics, however that's another matter.

Keynes' General Theory wasn't even published until the start year of the mod, so...

Plus, the US never DID pursue Keynes during the Great Depression. FDR and Keynes didn't quite get along that well.

As far as the 2nd ACW goes I've always argued that Huey Long's American Union State should do better outside of the South, having support in the Midwest. And its nutty corporatist system ought to be more than just fascism with an American face. I think this AAR does the most towards portraying a uniquely different AUS.
