Hello, I am Michael and I'm from kingdom of Poland. I recently finished reading "Fuhrrereich" novel by Erich Maria Remarque. Novel itself was pretty good, but I wondered about one thing. Is it certain that Germany would even survive lost Weltkrieg as a united political entity? France, Britain and Russia existed as united (more or less) state for centuries, yet Germany was united only in 1871 by Prussian force. There were people at the end of Weltkrieg who remembered no united Germany. So was there a possibility of Germany splitting again to Prussia, Bavaria, Saxony etc? @Jan Olbracht @Whiteshore @Kellan Sullivan

Well Russia still fell to the Soviet revolution in Fuhrerreich, so they would not be able to impose any terms on Germany. So I don't think an entire dissolution of Germany is on the cards, but the Rhineland or south Germany could be taken away, yes.

If the will existed in the Entente powers, yeah. The Third International (or at least the Sorelians in France) certainly did not lack the will to break up Germany if they had won even in our world with their post-war plans.

I think there could be potential for Franco-British split - French would strive towards dismantling Germany, while British would be more lenient.

I think it would be probable that germany would lose prussia and silesia and confined to land west of Oder.
Why would Poland want land filled with germans? I can understand West Prussia for sea access and MAYBE Posen due to the Polish population there until the Kaisertrue Germanization programs but why would they take anything beyond that?

Eastern Pomerania and Silesia is one of the biggest industrial centers of Germany next to Ruhr.

Yes, but the idea of Poland directly taking that territory is quite implausible. At most they would probably turn Pomerania and Silesia into puppet states and attempt to create a revival of the old slavic cultures that used to exist there, similar to Germany trying to recreate the Frankish cultural identity in their zone of France. I doubt they would be as sucessful however.

unlikely unless you really really go for massive oppression.

Which means camps and shooting squads...
