Meitner / Hahn are more discreet with the dissemination of the information about the uranium fission. Hahn realizes the military potential and informs Reich authorities. In spring 1939, Projekt Altona :D is started, three full years before Project Manhattam at first with the idea to create energy for steel/coal/synthetic fuel production and naval engines.

When the germans try graphite, they happen to use a low boron production line and therefore they manage to create nuclear reactors with natural uranium. From this, they unequivocably determine the process cross sections and, analyzing fission products, discover plutonium.

The 6 week decree is not issued.

By 1943 Me-262 start appearing in german skies and the summer 1943 USAAF bomber offensive is broken in a bloodbath reminding WWI battles. Ubootes switch earlier (or even from the beginning of the war) to snorkels reducing dramatically own losses. Due to a better Battle of Atlantic, Normandy invasion is delayed to 1945.

Most of the money spent on the V2 program is diverted to Projekt Altona and by late 1944/early 1945, with the Reich in a sharply better shape than IOTL, 1 plutonium core per month is available.

WW2 morphs into WW3.
