July Putsch in 1934 has more success: Nazi Austria or Civil War

What happens if the Austrian NSDAP actually mansges to produce somewhat coherent plans?

Their initial Stoßtrupp manages to kill/capture the whole government and not only Dollfuß like IOTL. In their subsequent actions they manage to cut communications and to spread even more chaos.

All in all the coup gains more momentum than IOTL and has more success.

Parts of the Army join the Nazis and either a civil war kicks off or the Nazis fully succed in taking over.

The potential butterflies here would be huge.

A few ideas:
1)Italo-German war
2)No support for the Nationalists in the SCW
3) No Axis
4) No Afrikakorps

1 is possible, and then it depends if/when Hitler and Mussolini get to be friends again.
Uncle Willie has the Stresa from continued TL which is very Possible as well.
The Best Nazi scenario is if the Austrians nazis “Liberate” austria without german help.
Then they Can merge when Hitler us ready to refute ToV.

PS. My ongoing TL “The List Regiment at Havrincourt” also includes a related scenario for Austria.

If the Austrian Nazis really manage to gain control over the state alone, I think Mussolini would have a hard time trying to justify a war. It would be really easy to spin the Putsch as something similiar to Mussolini's March.

I think Hitler and Mussolini would not become friends in case of a war. Hitler would quite clearly see the weakness of Italian Fascism (Italy is inevitably going to screw up military actions), while Mussolini never would have the opportunity to develop a relationship with Hitler. And there are still ressentiments from WW1 waiting to be triggered. Ideologically it would be easy for the National Socialists to paint Italian Fascism as watered down quasi-socialism.

Thanks for the TL suggestions! I am going to give them a look.
