Julius Ceaser Survives! (Sort of)

What if, Julius ceaser survived the stabbings, but was injured so that he could never join a battle again. How would history change having one of the greatest milatery masterminds as an invalid? Would he put his mind to other things, prehaps becoming an inventer or writer? How would this effect history?

On the Ides of March?

He's neither as young or healthy as he used to be, so he might well not survive very long as an invalid.

How this effects history probably depends on what happens in response to the attempted assassination (and how it was prevented - as opposed to them stabbing until he was dead)
