John of Gaunt and Catherine of Naples

What if John of Gaunt marries the OTL dead daughter of Joan of Naples, Catherine of Naples could John of Gaunt be a great King in Naples.

Well, an obvious knock-on would be John's kids are gonna have their own civil wars against the Hungarian Angevins, so no deposition of Richard II for one.

What would be interesting is if John marries Catherine, and on her death, marries Constance of Castile - to give his kids a claim to Castile too.

They could easily run the Gauntlet:D

Yeah, if he married the three heiresses Jeanne of Brittany, Catherine of Naples and Constance of Castile, he would seem to be fishing out heiresses because he wanted to be King.:D

As pointed out in another thread: Richard II as a child he had uncle/s who ran the country better than he did when an adult, which probably had something to do with subsequent events.

Hence, John would most likely be itching for a crown, but have some hesitation against pulling a Isabelle de Valois/Roger Mortimer at home, so was intent on finding a crown elsewhere.
