The Hamilton musical has allowed me to become more familiar with the story of John Laurens, revolutionary war officer, closest of friends to Alexander Hamilton, and abolitionist South Carolinian, who had the misfortune of dying in battle... after the end of the war. He was pretty mich universally admired for his bravery and dedication.
How might American history have gone should he have lived? I see him becoming, at minimum, a Senator. Perhaps he becomes a VP to one of the early presidents. Maybe even has some influence on the Constitution?
