What if Johan de Witt, State Pensioner of the Dutch Republic ( Prime Minister) had not to resign form office, due to the Dutch War and was not consequently killed.
In 1672 the Dutch republic was attacked by an aliance led by Louis XIV, by France, England Prince Bishopric of Munster and supported by Sweden.
What would happen if Johan de Witt remained in office, eventual helped by some more favorable event on the front, at sea and on land.
Suppose he survived the whole Dutch war and ended in favour for the Dutch, more or less as in OTL, preventing the Orange faction to take over power in the Republic. What would the effects on him and on Dutch policy?
