Jisei, Tenmei-niikiru - A Japanese TL with Hillary Clinton as US President

Okay, now time for a short TL depicting a much worse Fukushima Daiichi disaster. For everyone's sake, the DPJ would have a commanding majority in both houses. Also, a better person would be given the task to handle the disaster - not only in Japan, but also the White House. Let me say it first, it's NOT an American TL, it's a Japanese TL, and it's dystopian. It would NOT affect the progress of my Tiananmen TL.

"This is CBS News. Prime Minister Naoto Kan was killed this morning by a nuclear explosion of the Third Reactor of Fukushima Daiichi, becoming the second consecutive Prime Minister to die in office. Mr Kan was inspecting the nuclear plant amid fears of a nuclear disaster after the earthquake yesterday.President Hillary Clinton[1] offered her condolences to the family of Naoto Kan and the Japanese people today and said the United States will provide all sufficient help at this critical moment. Japanese Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Seiji Maehara [2] is widely expected to become the next prime minister following the tragedy. Mr Maehara said that Naoto Kan would be dearly missed and every Japanese would never forget the selfless sacrifice of Naoto Kan."

[1] In this TL, Clinton instead of Obama won the Democratic nomination in 2008 and was then elected the 44th President of the United States.

[2] In OTL, Maehara has already resigned when the earthquake took place. Also, he had never been Deputy Prime Minister.

Just wanted to say Good luck with the TL, it’s nice to see a modern Japanese timeline. I was disappointed to read Ozawa is gone; he would make a good despot! Yukio Edano as the next Deputy Prime Minister and Yoshito Sengoku back as Chief Cabinet Secretary running the show? Or will Sengoku stay behind the scenes with Edano as Cabinet Secretary?

Oh yes, the Shadow Shogun has gone, but the Dark General is still around:D Yoshito Sengoku won't be butterflied away, he must live beyond the end of this TL:D Long live the evil Dark General :D (not in OTL please:()

Seiji Maehara, the Tony Blair of Japan, may or may not appoint a deputy Prime Minister, so just wait and see:)

Anyway, it's a very short TL and I'll finish it within July.
