Of course, having LBJ in the White House is an interesting plot twist.
Chapter 4- Part 1
1:44 PM, (Eastern Time), Washington, DC November 22, 1963:
House Speaker McCormack rushed to find Vice President Lyndon Baines Johnson, he searched all over the White House, High and Low, Left and Right, until he found LBJ with Lady Bird in the Den, he rushed up to LBJ and said "Lyndon, something terrible has happened, The President, the First Lady, and the Governor of Texas have been shot," LBJ responded in shock "Wh.aa.tt... you are kidding me aren't you? A late April Fools Prank?" "No, im not kidding Lyndon, I heard it on the radio", "By god, any word on there conditions? " "No," Responded McCormack, Lyndon rushed around the White House, informing staff of the Massacre in Dallas, and that there thoughts and prays be for Jack, Jackie and the Governor, this day was set to be long.

Of course, having LBJ in the White House is an interesting plot twist.
Again plausability:
Unless McCormack can travel faster then Superman he cannot absorb the news, compose himself, decide that he needs to inform LBJ, get from his office on Capitol Hill to the White House, speak with the WH staff concerning the whereabouts of the president, then, after no one knows where he is, conduct his own exhaustive search, all in only 10 minutes.
In reality, by 10 minutes after the shooting LBJ would have already been informed of the shooting and would be under protective guard. The WH staff would also have heard the news and the WH would be sealed up tight.
How is that a plot twist? A plot twist would be if LBJ keels over and dies from a heart attack or we learn later on that some of LBJ's more colorful comments inspired a "mentally unstable" staffer to hatch a plot to rid the nation of that "arrogant Yankee $@%##!! like Henry II & Thomas A beckett.
I was thinking maybe to have LBJ behind all of this, now that would be a plot twist

No, it would be an egregious defamation without a serious character changing POD much, much earlier. One that probably even butterflies his Vice Presidency away in the first place. I'm certainly no LBJ fan, but I can't think of a worse TL than one in which you turn a human being into a murderer to fill out an already (sorry) hollow and unrealistic plot.
Shame.
What do you mean by a hollow and unrealistic plot?
Everyone else has helped you out with that a lot and it's getting a lot better. I'm just warning you against vilifying real people who you know so little about. Or really anybody. How would you feel if people wrote you as a conspirator to the murder of a president turned accidental first murder of a First Lady?
With an earlier POD, it could be more believable (I would change the name to a fictional person for sure, though...) and not offend anyone, but your POD was obviously Oswald missing... that's a little too late to call LBJ a ladykiller.
Responsible for a lot of good young men not coming home? Sure. Bad person? Not necessarily. Conspirator to JFK's assassination? Pump the breaks...
Thanks.
Oh when you mentioned to a hollow and unrealistic plot you mentioned I thought you were talking about the whole thing, not just the LBJ idea,
Chapter 6 up soon, it's guaranteed to be a sad one![]()
