JFK Assassination WI: Only the "Magic Bullet" hits?

As it says on the title, let's say Oswald sneezes, or is momentarily blinded by glare after the (sadly) completely mundane and misleadingly titled shot that passed through JFK's neck and John Connally's body at about 7 points total, and his third shot goes wild?

Does JFK survive his injuries? If so, does he run in 1964 or would these preclude a second term? In either case, how does '64 go? Is Barry Goldwater's nomination going to happen under these circumstances, and what happens to LBJ if JFK either drops him or finishes two terms with him?

Will Connally's career go along a different bent or remain like OTL's? What are the effects on American culture if Kennedy pulls through, no matter how narrowly?

What will be the commonly believed theory concerning the assassination (attempt)? How long will it take before it's dispelled that two shots "had" to be responsible for all the injuries?

(inb4 "the guy on the grassy knoll would've gotten him anyway")

So the "magic bullet" passed through Kennedy's back, damaging one of his vertebra. It then passed just above his right lung and exited at the centerline below his Adam's Apple. However his trachea was not damaged, so it is possible that he lives through this. But even if he does there is some serious damage that probably requires a lot of time to heal and a few surgeries. Add to that Kennedy's Addison's and other health factors and he may well not be up for running again. I suspect there would be conspiracies if he dies (like almost every other President who's been assassinated) but they wouldn't be a prevalent, particularly if he lived (in which case they'd be about as popular as the idea that nuclear bombs were a hoax).

IIRC, the main impetus for the OTL conspiracy theories with Oswald's subsequent death at the hands of Jack Ruby. If JFK survives, then Ruby probably wouldn't decide to play vigilante.
