Jefferson in 1796

I was wondering what the consequences would be of a Jefferson win in the election of 1796? What would this mean for relations with both France and England? The alien and sedition acts? I would imagine that Jefferson would ally the United States closer to the French than the British however with hostile actions being taken by the French against the Americans during this time period, OTL John Adams presidency, I wonder how Jefferson would have handled it, given his favoring of the French people. Also wonder if he would have been able to do the Louisiana Purchase earlier. I also wonder what would become of John Adams. Thoughts?

No Quasi-War with France, and certainly no Alien and Sedition Acts. However, the Louisiana Purchase might be butterflied away, as the circumstances which made it possible IOTL might not exist ITTL.

A Jefferson win could butterfly away Napoleon's rise, which pretty much butterflies the Louisiana Purchase.

What about supreme court justice John Marshall? Adams appointed him near the end of his term. Jefferson probably wouldn't have appointed him and the supreme court wouldn't have as much power as it does today.
