Is it possible for the Japanese and the Russians to partition Joseon/Korea in the late 19th century in the same way that Austria, Prussia and Russia partitioned the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth.
It seems quite hard for me, as Austria and Russia didn't have the possibility to ensiage a war just for not partitioning Poland, and Prussia to weak to force the hand of the two.
Furthermore, partitioning Poland and critically the polish nationalism was the good idea.
Korea in the other hand...Not only Japan wanted all the Korea for itself, had his sight fixed high, and had the possibility to fight for it, but korean nationalism wasn't as problematic than the polish one.
In the other hand , Russia would be more favorable to such an agreement, as long Manchuria stay in his basket. A more tardive Medji, less military-led Japan and a earlier Korean reaction to call Russia for help against Japan could do it.
