Japan a happy CP!

So.........since there is so much interest in the CPs and WWI on the board these days, I would be interested in knowing what the concensus is on Japan jumping on board with Hohenzollern Germany. It seems that both powers had common cause (felt that they were being denied their place in the sun and all that). Now, I would like to suggest that it is a secret treaty, so Japan can still appear to be chummy w/Britain.

Japan still wins against Russia in 1905 (that is not changed)
Japanese and German East Asian squadron sail together.
Japanese troops bolster Germans in Tsingtao, KWland, maybe a few in Samoa.

Germany points out that Britain and France have much wealthier, tastier bits to gobble up than Germany does so:

Japan wants all or part of Indochina, northern Sakhalin, greater influence in China (maybe outright annexation).

An active Japan probably means no ANZAC troops for Europe, so waltzing Mathilda stays in the Pacific (or not? what do you think?)

Just prior to the declaration of war, Germany sends a few pre - dreadnought battleships, maybe a battlecruiser and some destroyers to bolster Von Spee.

Not going to happen, Japan like Italy was going to join whatever side was winning in the region and that just isn't Germany.

... I have an hard time seeing it, actually. There is still the A-J-A to account for- if it is left, that makes Japan look bad if they go to war with Britain, and if it isn't, then Britain is likely to pay more attention to Japan.
And there is the RN. It is a bit too superior.
I grant, my TL had Japan join the Alliance, but that had Britain neutral as well, which would have a number of effects on its own.

If Britain stays out of the war it is certainly do-able

Well, I'm not going to protest that;), but of course, if Britain is neutral, then that would change the War quite a bit on its own, which makes Japan's participation more a matter of changing how the TL goes then how Japan being on the other side would change the OTL War, so...

Honestly, I can't see it. At this stage, Japan had more to gain by sticking to their alliance with Britain. Perhaps with a much earlier POD, though. . .

Well they wouldn't be in the war at all, as the alliance with Britain was what brought them in. Similarly there is not all that much they have to gain, French Indochina is beyond their logistics and bar Vladivostock Siberia isn't much of a prize. I'd imagine if the war is a very likely to end in a CP victory they might jump in to gain French holdings in China and North Salakin/Vladivoskoc; I'd imagine heavy British pressure against this though.

Potential POD? Britain staying in splendid isolation and Germany forming an alliance with Japan.
