James II & VII Never Has A Son

James II of England's having of a son was a substantial cause of the Glorious Revolution, as it meant the throne would no longer pass to his protestant daughter Mary (and then Anne). So what if he never, try as he might, had a son and the throne was guaranteed to pass to Mary II, and once she died in 1694 it would go to Anne instead?

I think the Parliament just tolerates James then, especially because he is fairly old by this time anyway. I wonder what it would mean for foreign policy. Does England still join the Grand Alliance?
