Jacobite Plots

Alright so I’m going to combine a few questions and theories into one thread.

1) Lets say in 1719 the Jacobites were a little more likely and the storm never battered the main fleet, and 7,000 men landed in Cornwall. What would happen next?

2) What if the Gyllenbourg Plot was never discovered by the government in 1717? What would become of the Swedish Plot?

3) And finally, what if James III was peacefully restored after the death of Queen Anne in 1714? What would the government look like, what would become of the Earl of Oxford, who would he marry?

Thank You,
Nick

Regarding 1, I am not sure about the size of the British home army at the time but due to the War of the Quadruple Alliance, I imagine Britain had a decent sized force on hand in the Isles. The Jacobite army would probably be evenly matched. At that point, the Jacobites would probably have to face the British in a pitched battle between Cornwall and London. If they won, they could potentially seize London, if they lost the rebellion might fall apart right then and there. After the fall of London I imagine there would be a continued war as the Hanoverians attempted to keep hold of their new kingdom. There would be some interesting implications on the War of the Quadruple Alliance if the British exited the war due to a Jacobite takeover. If Britain changed sides that would be even more interesting.

3) And finally, what if James III was peacefully restored after the death of Queen Anne in 1714? What would the government look like, what would become of the Earl of Oxford, who would he marry?
Considering the state of Anglo-Scottish politics at the time this would require James III to be publicly Anglican, I'm not even sure merely NonCatholic would be enough.
OTL James's personality didn't go for the "worth an Anglican Mass" approach, it was Catholic or nothing. So you'll need to change that somewhere in him or his upbringing.

Would it though. He could be restored by a Coup. If the Tories were even somewhat prepared James would’ve easily been King. The Tory Government was largely in his favor at the time and the people wanted him as their King over the Elector of Hanover. He also promised to protect the Anglican Church upon his eventual ascension numerous times.

I'm not so sure of that myself.
