I'm currently researching the Italo-Turkish War for my TL (https://www.alternatehistory.com/discussion/showthread.php?t=162906
) - the Ottoman failure to adequately reinforce the Libyan provinces was obviously a major reason for their defeat. I'm just wondering if anyone knows whether the main reason for them not doing so was:
a) A need to maintain most of the Empire's forces in the Balkans.
b) Italian naval supremacy.
Or both?
I'm looking for a way for them to do better, which would work if a) was the main issue. From the bits of information I have on the respective navies I fear that what I'm aiming for is very unlikely though.
Anyone have any idea?
