Can anyone come up with a plausible scenario in which the Italian Navy defeats the Austrian Navy in detail? It should also include no Caporetto, and the surrender of the Tyrol and the other areas that Italy wanted in WW1. This can lead to no Mussolini

You do mean WWI and they did cripple the Austrian-Hungarian navy by torpedoboat attack 1918. -but I guess you're wanting a capital ship engagement! Perhaps if you had some Italian capital ship presence in the northern Adriatic early in the war the A-H might had a go for it, but then again perhaps not!
