Israeli-Syrian War 2008-2010

In 2010 Bashir Al-Assad accused of Israel of damaging prospects for peace and Syria's foreign minister warned that Israeli cities would be targeted by Syrian missiles. The Israelis responded by claiming Syria would lose any such war and the Assad family would be forced from power.

So what if a war broke out? Perhaps over Lebanon? How would it go? Would the Syrians do any real damage or would the Israelis thrash them?

Thoughts?

Well, if you take a look at A. The War of 1948, B. Six Day War, C. Yom Kippoer War, D. Operation Galilee, I personal wouldn't want to be member of the Syrian Military for Round number Five.

would not last two months let alone two years, neither side has the resource's to wage anything other than insurgency/counterinsurgency

I'm talking about a conventional war-not a proxy war. Israeli tanks against Syrian tanks. Helicopters on helicopters. Division on division.

2010 is absolutely nightmarish for Syria. It's after the wakeup call of the 2006 Lebanon War (less chance of a sucker punch), and would destroy the Assad regime's highest-readiness units.
